They're creepy and they're kooky; mysterious and spooky; and they've scared up a hell of a voice cast.

MGM has unveiled the first trailer and a poster for the upcoming Addams Family animated reboot, which will arrive in theaters just in time for Halloween. The teaser introduces Gomez (Oscar Isaac), Morticia (Charlize Theron), Wednesday (Chloe Grace Moretz), Pugsley (Finn Wolfhard) and the rest of the clan as they move into their new home.

The plot will focus on the freaky family as they face-off against a crafty reality TV host (Allison Janney) while also preparing for their relations to arrive for a major celebration.

Cast is so damn good and I love the Addams Family, both available on prime so I am due for a rewatch but something about this just seems a tick off. Will have to watch the full movie to make up my mind.

Not really pleasant to look at. Maybe this should have been done in stop-motion, like Coraline or The Nightmare Before Christmas... or just with different art direction.

@BlackBeltJones - I was born in 1983 haha. MC Hammer Adams Groove and Tag Team Addams Family Whoops love those songs. I watched The Addams Family(1991) movie when I was seven years old back when it came out in theatres. Also, I watched The Addams Family Values(1993) when I was nine years old back when it came out in the movie theatres.

Don't like the animation. A little over stylized for my taste. Since it's not a major animation studio it looks a little half rendered too. I am a fan of The Addams Family though, so I'll have to wait and see if it's any good. Until then, this is strictly a DVD only kinda movie.

Story time: I remember seeing the 90s movie years ago when my sister rented it for us to watch on Halloween, and for some reason I really didn’t wanna watch it (maybe because I was still pissed at her for making me sit through Zookeeper) and I started going off on this tirade of “This movie sucks and you suck and your taste in movies sucks!”. And then we watched the movie and I ended up loving it.

@MUTO123 - Hahaha ya I remember the trailers didn’t really win me over but when I went to see it I was surprised how good it was, they did a good job capturing the spirit of the show I think! :)

I agree, Zookeeper is family destroying type of bad😂😂

@Jayman627 - I like The Addams Family, but I love The Munsters. By far a more entertaining show from the 60s era. I'd love either a live action movie or TV series again.

From the movies, I never really got the franchise. Maybe in the 60's having an overtly anti-conformist family of misfits that were also functional and loving was a revelation, but when they made the movies in the 90's it felt limp to me. Even as a kid.
