I know some of our international visitors have watched the finale of Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes this past summer but the last episode is finally airing in the U.S. this Sunday. As this series ends, and Avengers Assemble look set to begin next year, the shows' producers, writers and voice cast look back on their time on the show and send out a bunch of thanks to the Marvel fans.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (also known as The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes!) is an American animated television series by Marvel Animation in cooperation with Film Roman based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers. The show debuted on Disney XD in Fall 2010 starting with a 20 part micro-series.

Marvel Entertainment, LLC and Disney XD announced that a "new Marvel Universe" programming block named Marvel Universe which includes Season 2 of Avengers and the animated Ultimate Spider-Man series that began broadcasting in April 2012.

The series initially features a team based on the roster for the original Avengers, comprised of Iron Man (Anthony "Tony" Stark), Ant-Man/Giant-Man (Henry "Hank" Pym), the Hulk (Robert "Bruce" Banner), Thor (Thor Odinson), and the Wasp (Janet Van Dyne). The team is later joined by Captain America (Steven "Steve" Rogers), the Black Panther (T'Challa), and Hawkeye (Clinton "Clint" Barton) in the first season, while in the second season, Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) and the Vision join the roster, with Spider-Man (Peter Benjamin Parker) named to reserve member status. In terms of overall tone and style, the series is based principally on the original stories by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. However, it also tends to utilize material from all eras of the comic's run as well as other sources, such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The series is going to be replaced and continued by Avengers Assemble in 2013.

I loved this show and I'll miss. I just hope Avengers Assemble is half as good as this. I have my fingers crossed that it is, but given the fact that Loeb is producing it, it'll probably suck.

I wasn't expecting too much from EMH & was pleasantly surprised by how much they delved in & out of important arcs. I especially loved watching my wide eyed nephews & nieces get so caught up in the Marvel Universe. Avengers Assemble better bring the goods!

Man, I got so emotionally invested in the show. I just hope the next one is a continuance similar to how Justice League Unlimited was to Justice League.

@MerkinMan
I can share your sentiments regarding getting your nephews and nieces into the Marvel universe. I have a 3 year old son who ive recently got into Star Wars the original trilogy and all the Marvel movies. Its so awesome to see their excitement and wonder as they delve into the stories and characters. I remember as a kid my late father taking me to ROTJ when it came out and me sitting on his lap. He had to cover my ears because it was too loud. I was 5 or so at the time. It is my fondest memory of him and i WILL be doing the same with my son for Episode 7. Sorry about the long comment. Got carried away.

This is the show that got this 36 year old dad watching cartoons again. It was fun discussing the plots with my kids, who were actually sharp enough to keep up with the many ongoing threads. EMH will be missed!

Bring on the complete series on blu-ray!

Personally, i disliked the voice cast and the animation. I liked how they adapted comic storylines though. I don't read Marvel much, but i was able to pick up the storylines and i liked how they felt like whole stories within the alloted time.

I'm not going to compare it to the other shows we have, but it was a good enough show. Not going to cry over it though.

@ chewie
I saw Empire & Jedi @ a Drive-in cinema as a double feature with my (also late dad) & became so obsessed...this is why I think some folks get so upset by prequels etc because it messes with their sentimental attachments.
But I digress, I've got a little man due late Feb & hope to share my love for comics, cbm's & the like with him...lucky his mum's an artist who appreciates the aesthetic & literary side of it all. Any excuse to watch cartoons will do though!
Cheers for sharing man...

This show was up there with Batman:TAS as the best superhero series ever. It's a f*cking crime against everything cool in the multiverse that some f*cktards at Marvel decided to cut off this show just because it wasn't exactly like the movie. Who cares? So some kid might see this show, realize it's not just like the movie, but still his curiosity is piqued and he wants to read some of their adventures, so he gets Mom to bring him to a comic shop or book store where he can find them and check them out. It's called developing new readers, and expanding the market. It's how Marvel used to expand their reader base when they had competent people running the company.

A big part of what made Avengers:EMH so incredibly great was the masterful job its creators did of blending in so many different interpretations of the Avengers, from the classic to the ultimates to the movies to the modern comics, taking some of the best ideas from each of these influences to create an Avengers that truly had something for every fan of the team. On a similar note, I also loved how they borrowed from great Avengers stories old and new and brought them to life. I'm only sorry that this wonderful show is being cut short because Marvel is run by morons. Words can't express my gratitude towards Yost, Fine, and everyone else responsible for giving us a show that was truly worthy of the Avengers, my favorite hero team.

it's such ashamed that scarlet witch and quicksilver were never introduced to the team.
also is it just me but i think think season 2 wasn't as good as the first one. the hulk is barely in it, the skrull invasion was uninteresting, and ms.marvel is underdeveloped.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyy I just dont understand?? this show was a hit now the are gonna reduce it to the same anoying level as that ultimate spiderman cartoon wich is a direckt rip off of the teen titaans cartoon. doesnt Loeb understands that if he schrws up now he will lose fans!!! This show was the best up there with Batman TAS and Justice League.!!

The show was okay.
I wasn't a fan of the "goofy" animation style, especially with Cap's exaggerated features.
Things like Young Justice just put it to shame. Hopefully Avengers Assemble will be a bit more realistically stylized.

I loved this show and I'll miss me . Amazing show which proved that some Marvel's animated series are goods (like the old Spider-Man cartoon) . If ever Loeb do something to Avengers Assemble which makes the show weird I'll Hate Loeb in my whole life !!
