BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES Actor Efrem Zimbalist Jr. Dies at the Age of 95
American actor Efrem Zimbalist Jr. has passed away yesterday, May 2, due to natural causes. The actor was known for his long fulfilled voice performance as Alfred Pennyworth in Batman: The Animated Series, as well as starring as Inspector Lewis Erskine in The F.B.I. television series.
Efrem Zimbalist Jr. was commonly known for his performances from 1958 through 1978, where he stared as a private eye and a federal agent in two ABC television shows titled: "77 Sunset Strip" and "The F.B.I." The actor later moved on to play a con man named Daniel Chalmers in the television series, "Remington Steele." In the 1990s, he took on the role of Alfred Pennyworth in Batman: The Animated Series, as well as Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Zimbalist also reprised the role of Alfred in Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman & Mr.Freeze: Sub-Zero, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman: Vengeance, Static Shock, and Justice League. On May 2, 2014, the actor died in Solvang, California at the age of 95, due to natural causes. His children had this to say:
“A devout Christian, he actively enjoyed his life to the last day, showering love on his extended family, playing golf and visiting with close friends. We will miss him dearly.”
