First look at Kung Fu Panda 3 villain Kai

Kung Fu Panda 3 will arrive in theaters on January 29, 2016 and features the all-star voice cast of Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, James Hong, Randall Duk Kim, Bryan Cranston and Rebel Wilson.  Kung Fu Panda 3 is a Dreamworks film that will be distributed by 20th Century Fox.  The film was co-directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni.  Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Beger wrote the script.

Dreamworks Animation CEO  Jeffrey Katzenberg has previously stated that the Kung Fu Panda franchise has six chapters.

Hans Zimmer is providing the score for the film.

When Po's long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible-learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!

Hopefully it will be better than the last one. I just wasn't a fan of the last one, but it did have some really beautiful hand drawn animation in the dream world. It should have been 2D animation the whole time and if there was no sound it would have been alright with me.

So the villain uses the God of War blades with chains weapons interesting. Either way I am really excited for this movie because I love the first two my only worry is this movie will retread over plot points from the last movie. With Po reuniting with his dad and all I worry they are going to go over Po not knowing who he is or where he belongs storyline from the 2nd movie.

Does anyone else notice that design wise the villain looks an awful lot like Drago Bludvist from HTTYD 2.

Ya while Pixar has faltered and fallen in quality Dreamworks really picked up and there movies got better and better. Despicable Me, HTTYD 1+2, and Kung Fu Panda 1+2 were all amazing movies. I hope KFP 3 can continue that trend.

@pesmerge44 I completely agree with you. Dreamworks has not disappointed me at all with the quality of films that they have released. They know how to bring human emotions into the movies and man they know where exactly where to hit you. haha

@pesmerga44 Despicable Me is not a Dreamworks movie.
It's by the studio that did The Lorax.

@oMonRo

Okay your right sorry I was mistaken Despicable Me was not a Dreamworks film. Either way HTTYD and KFP franchises are both amazing and to me has made the Dreamworks company a better company over Pixar since around 2011. There last 3 movies have not been up to their usual quality. Personally I also find Toy Story 3 a little overrated and I felt HTTYD was the better animated movie in 2010 but I respect the consensus. I also feel Dreamworks has some underrated films in there with The Croods and Rise of the Guardians I personally really liked those two films.

Also don't remind me about the Lorax film that company made because was that such a terrible film that had none of the nuance or intelligence of the book or the short animated film that came before it.

Looks great. Like the other two. Dreamworks has picked up in quality so much as I look more forward to their next movies than Pixar. Though Inside Out looks good, and of course waiting patiently for Incredibles 2.

@pesmerga44 I've seen NC's review of The Lorax.
Speaking to the choir, here, concerning Pixar's recent flicks.

Woah... People are excited? Really? I mean... Why? The first one came out nearly 8 years ago. The kids who saw it back then, are now angsty teens. Kev was right, I guess Black needed some money.

@RetroFit

Are idiots still going on how some stuff on this site is not about comic book related stuff so why is it on this site? This is a geek website that is predominately about comic book movies but not exclusively. Majority of people on this site want to talk about cartoons, toys, movies, t.v. shows, video games, etc... that may have nothing to do with comic books.
