Producer Ethan Spaulding & Art Director Dan Norton talk to CBR about updating the show for modern audiences aswell as the anime influences on the art direction, and what we can expect from the new show.

Both Spaulding and Norton talk about their excitement to be involved with the modern updating of a show that they grew up with and how excited they are to share it with a new generation.

Spaulding explains that the new animation studio used for the updated series actually contains members of the animation house that worked on the original show, thus giving the new look "some shared DNA".

They also share insights on both the writing of the new show and the designing of the characters and animation, as well as talking about how Bandai's toy line influenced the vehicle, weapons and character design.

You can watch the full 7 minute interview below.

ThunderCats will air later this year on the Cartoon Network.
