Warner Bros. next tent pole animated feature, Lego: The Piece of Resistance, has just landed Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman. They will be lending their voices for the film, with Freeman taking on the role of Vitruvius. The cast currently is made up of Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation) in the lead and Will Arnett (Let's Go To Prison). Arnett will be voicing Batman for the film, and it is rumored that WB is hoping to nab Channing Tatum for the voice of the Man of Steel, Superman.

The plot: an ordinary Lego mini-figure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil Lego tyrant from gluing the universe together.

The film will be directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street) and be released February 28, 2014.

Unofficial Synopsis - Emmet is an ordinary, law-abiding Lego mini-figure who lives in Legoverse, and only builds something using the instructions. However, when a villain decides to glue the entire Legoverse together, Emmett is mistaken for one of the Master Builders, legendary warriors that could build without using the instructions, and drafted to help save the Legoverse, which will force him to find his inner creativity.

Neat idea, I guess. I like that GOB is playing Batman.

Anything that features Morgan Freeman's voice in it has to be good. It's the law.

I'm trying to think of an appropriate Arrested Development quote to go along with the news that GOB will be Batman... But I can't think of one!

This doesn't sound like that good of an idea. Have you ever seen Ninjago? Animated legos are not as entertaining as animating Legos, you know, at home.

LEGO really needs to just stop. I'm tired of seeing them in every form of entertainment available. They're a freakin' toy maker.

Morgan Freeman and Elizabeth Banks are both excellent actors and I've been playing with LEGOs since I was a child. This film, however, sounds incredibly lame so I'll pass.

Speaking of Lego Batman, this is an actual letter I sent in to Lego about how they broke Batman's one rule.

@MattJMarcus Legos don't die. They break and can be rebuilt. Getting upset over it is like getting upset about Humpty Dumpty falling off a wall.

As far as Batmans on real rule... I bet you plenty of people died in the Nolan Batman films as Batman is driving over their cars and blowing shit up.

You people need to lighten up & RELAX!!! It's obviously a movie for kids. My 3 year-old nephew freakin loves his Legos, and the Lego Star Wars movie is actually pretty funny, but it's only 30 mins long.

I'm going to be so pissed if Channing Tatum voices superman.

He's a bitch. I just want to see him get clocked in the face by someone.
