With the announcement of Green Lantern: the Animated Series being brought to Blu-Ray today, many were left scratching their heads. While the show was great, there has long been a clamoring for the critically acclaimed, Emmy winning classic Batman: the Animated Series (1992), and The New Batman Adventures (1997).

Perhaps Warner Bros. is not aware of the demand. Perhaps Warner Bros. doesn't believe the demand is high enough. A petition has been started to have this unbelievable series digitally remastered and released in complete high definition, and perhaps to change Warner Bros' mind.

Sign the petition to make your voice heard!

Is there really a point? It's 2D. It's not like you're going to be seeing any more detail than what you have with the DVDs. However, if the purpose is preserving the legacy of the greatest cartoon all time, that I can understand.

Why bother having a petition for something they're going to do eventually?

P.S. Green Lantern is coming out for Blu-ray so Young Justice isn't probably to far behind.

To expedite the process? To ensure that it happens? Need other reasons? Did you read the article, or the petition?

What is the goal for this Bluray petition though? Not that I wouldn't enjoy a Bluray set of this series, but it's likely that the old source footage may not have the capability to be "upgraded" to Bluray. At least, in the way that most people would like to see it. They would have to do some serious work to make it look nice and we're talking about WB, kings of repackaging episodes and releasing them haha!

I've emailed WB twice to ask if they planned to re-release BTAS especially with the Anniversary coming up but never got a reply. I've seen some good HD remakes of the intro on youtube.I hope they do bring them out and release them here in the UK.

BTAS still is one of my favourite cartoons, and Conroy and Hamill are still my favourite versions of the characters. Had the toys when I was younger. The Batmobile toy from BTAS was one of my pride and joys.

The best animated television show of all time. Not just for comic books.

Well, I know someone at DC/WB. I want it to hit at LEAST 10K before I bring it to their attention. That will also make HIS superiors take notice.

So spread the word! We're almost to 100, and it's not even been 12 hours yet.

I'd be happy just to have more than 1 season released in Australia, same for both Justice League series.
