Thirty years after their introduction, the Rugrats are back, and Paramount+ has finally released the official trailer for their upcoming revival series, which is set to premiere exclusively on the new streaming service on May 27.

The series will have a one-hour premiere, titled "Second Time Around," which will see Tommy lead the babies on a daring adventure to help Chuckie after his big attempt to be brave goes horribly wrong - an adventure that may or may not involve dinosaurs.

Season one will be split into two halves, with the first batch of episodes dropping at the end of this month, followed by a second drop later this year.

The voice cast will feature surviving original cast members E. G. Daily as Tommy Pickles, Nancy Cartwright as Chuckie Finster, Kath Soucie as Phil and Lil DeVille, Cheryl Chase as Angelica Pickles, and Cree Summer as Susie Carmichael.

However, the adult roles have been recast, with Tommy Dewey as Stu Pickles, Ashley Rae Spillers as Didi Pickles, Anna Chlumsky as Charlotte Pickles, Timothy Simons as Drew Pickles, Natalie Morales as Betty DeVille, Tony Hale as Chas Finster, Michael McKean as Lou Pickles, Nicole Byer as Dr. Lucy Carmichael, and Omar Benson Miller as Randy Carmichael.

No word yet on Dil Pickles, Kimi Finster, or Kira Finster, but it seems likely the three are being saved for future seasons.

Streaming May 27th, only on Paramount+, a reimagining of the classic '90s hit, the brand-new series features rich and colorful CG-animation and follows Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie and Angelica as they explore the world and beyond from their pint-sized and wildly imaginative point-of-view.

That 3D is....less than desirable.

I like that they're reviving it, loved this show as a kid.

Just don't like the animation.

My babies! What have you done to my babies?! Before SpongeBob, Rugrats was my all time favorite show on Nickelodeon. I loved just about every episode, movie, and even All Grown Up. This looks just as bad as Kamp Koral, computer animation wise.

That cg is rough

Yikes! That animation looks like test footage from an old video game.

This looks bad.

Also man this is one of those cases where you loose most of the charm without that old fashion, scratchy, hand drawn art style

@dracula - Same. I had the same feeling with Simpsons, the roughness works for a product sometimes.

I'm okay. Thanks though!

The voice direction isn’t too great. Everybody sounds like they’re trying too hard to do baby voices, and like they were in different rooms.

This is one of those reboots where I’m like... why? Why bring the cast back 30 years later? They’ll mean nothing to the new generation, and if people that original wanna hear those voices, go back and stream.

I had the VHS for the The Rugrats movie and Rugrats in Paris, watched them all the time! No Kimi or Dyl?! You bastards!!!!
There’s something empty & fake about the world, like the early Beware the Batman episodes, that makes it look very lackluster. I would have gone with claymation or more standard stop-motion, it would fit the Rugrats style better.

Yeah, that animation leaves a lot to be desired, but its cool that this got a revival.

Remember when Nick was supposed to make a live action Rugrats, but it got scrapped? Man, I would've paid good money to see that horror flick. Probably would've looked like this.

Definitely prefer the original over this and can just watch that on Hulu...

I guess it's fun for the target audience. Just not for me.

Also, another streaming service? Somebody should make a streaming service for all the streaming services already

I like that the OG voice cast is coming back but the service paywall and horrendous looking 3d animation will kill this show.
