Thirty years after their introduction, the Rugrats are back, and Paramount+ has finally released the official trailer for their upcoming revival series, which is set to premiere exclusively on the new streaming service on May 27.
The series will have a one-hour premiere, titled "Second Time Around," which will see Tommy lead the babies on a daring adventure to help Chuckie after his big attempt to be brave goes horribly wrong - an adventure that may or may not involve dinosaurs.
Season one will be split into two halves, with the first batch of episodes dropping at the end of this month, followed by a second drop later this year.
The voice cast will feature surviving original cast members E. G. Daily as Tommy Pickles, Nancy Cartwright as Chuckie Finster, Kath Soucie as Phil and Lil DeVille, Cheryl Chase as Angelica Pickles, and Cree Summer as Susie Carmichael.
However, the adult roles have been recast, with Tommy Dewey as Stu Pickles, Ashley Rae Spillers as Didi Pickles, Anna Chlumsky as Charlotte Pickles, Timothy Simons as Drew Pickles, Natalie Morales as Betty DeVille, Tony Hale as Chas Finster, Michael McKean as Lou Pickles, Nicole Byer as Dr. Lucy Carmichael, and Omar Benson Miller as Randy Carmichael.
No word yet on Dil Pickles, Kimi Finster, or Kira Finster, but it seems likely the three are being saved for future seasons.
Streaming May 27th, only on Paramount+, a reimagining of the classic '90s hit, the brand-new series features rich and colorful CG-animation and follows Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie and Angelica as they explore the world and beyond from their pint-sized and wildly imaginative point-of-view.
