Disney+ has unleashed the first trailer and poster for The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, a new animated adventure that brings back the beloved characters from the Ice Age franchise.

The property, once part of 20th Century Fox, has seemingly morphed into the streaming service's stable of exclusive titles. The previous five movies and two televisions specials are currently part of an Ice Age collection on Disney+, while this movie releases on January 28.

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild promises to continue the hilarious escapades of the sub-zero heroes as they create more prehistoric pandemonium. Eager for a little independence, the thrill-seeking possum brothers Crash and Eddie set out to find a place of their own but soon find themselves trapped beneath the ice in a massive cave inhabited by dinosaurs. They are rescued by the one-eyed, adventure-loving weasel Buck Wild, and together, with the help of some new friends, embark on a mission to save the Lost World from dinosaur domination.

The movie features the voices of Simon Pegg (Mission: Impossible – Fallout), Utkarsh Ambudkar (Free Guy), Justina Machado (One Day at a Time), Vincent Tong (Ninjago) and Aaron Harris.

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild is directed by John C. Donkin (Ice Age: Continental Drift) and written by Jim Hecht (Ice Age: The Meltdown), Ray DeLaurentis (Fairly Odd Parents) and Will Schifrin (Bunsen is a Beast) from a story by Jim Hecht, with Lori Forte (Ice Age) serving as executive producer.

It has a writer from The Fairly OddParents which is a show I consistently loved. So maybe this will be good as well. The trailer didn't inspire much confidence but I'm willing to give it a chance. Especially since it comes free with the service.

Cool to see they got Simon Pegg for this, but Buck Wild really sounds a lot like Coran from Voltron
