Anime distributor Anime Limited is currently working with studio NYAV Post for a English dub release in the 4Q 2013.

Cyborg 009 (サイボーグ 009 Saibōgu Zero-Zero-Nain?) is a 1964 manga created by Shotaro Ishinomori. In the original manga story, nine regular humans are kidnapped by the evil Black Ghost organization to undergo human experiments which resulted in nine cyborgs with each one having super human powers. The nine cyborgs band together to fight for their freedom and to stop Black Ghost. The evil organization's goal is to start the next world war by supplying rich buyers with countless weapons of mass destruction.

First released on October 27, 2012 in Japan by Production I.G., Sanzigen and Ishimori Productions, 009 Re:Cyborg revitalized the franchise with a story centered around a terrorist plot to de-stabilize global civilization by blowing up skyscrapers all over the world. Dr. Isaac Gilmore's team of cyborgs are re-activated to combat the menace. Using their super-human powers they discover phenomenon far stranger than human masterminds.

Anyone that lives near a Big Lots, they sometimes get the original series DVDs for 3 bucks. I've got 2. Good stuff, I also recall playing a ROM of a side-scroller of Cyborg 009 when I was a kid. Fun game.

Classic old school manga and anime which looks great for the update. Wish Gatchaman got this same treatment instead of the upcoming live action option.

'Always' here pretty much means about 68 years in real time. Even then its open for debate. That's all I gotta say about it.

Man the cg does not look good to me personally. The characters look a little dead eyed to me and not a lot of expression is coming from their face. CG can do wonders look at pixar or dreamworks the problem is this is much cheaper cg and it shows it badly. They should have gone hand drawn for this movie and stayed closer to the classic character designs they all look pretty similar to each other now unlike their original designs.

^Where they all had their own distinct character design. 002 looks absolutely nothing like before which was a weird design but they kept nothing from his design hair color, hair style, pointed chin, something that even harkens back to his original design.
