Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, and it's clear they're planning to kick Phase 5 off in style.
It might be unfair to call this a "return to form" for Marvel Studios after a hit-and-miss Phase 4, but it certainly feels that way. The biggest talking point here is, of course, going to be what appears to be the MCU debut of Kang the Conqueror. We're assuming this is the Variant that will take centre stage in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but only time will tell.
What we do learn here, however, is that Kang is amassing a huge army. Are they all lesser Variants or Quantum Realm inhabitants? We'll see.
On that point, the Quantum Realm looks downright bonkers, while we also get a first look at Bill Murray's mystery character. Cassie Lang is clearly suiting up as Stature (or Stinger) for this adventure, albeit with Kathryn Newton filling the role this time.
Kang asking Scott if he's killed him before didn't make it into this trailer despite that exchange being a huge part of the D23 sneak peek that later leaked online. Regardless, this is an awesome teaser and one that should definitely increase excitement for what's to come in the rest of The Multiverse Saga.
In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.
Jonathan Majors joins the adventure as Kang. Director Peyton Reed returns to direct the film; Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard produce.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in theaters on February 17, 2023.
