T.I. Comments Very Briefly On His ANT-MAN Role

Even though Ant-Man comes out just two months after Avengers: Age of Ultron next year, there is so much we don't know about the movie, which will launch Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When the ensemble cast was announced with the commencement of filming, Marvel had failed to reveal who the supporting actors are playing. One of them, rapper-turned-actor T.I. aka Clifford Harris Jr., was thought to be playing a villain in Ant-Man based solely on an Instagram set photo posted (and later removed) by his co-star Evangeline Lilly. However, while promoting his new album on V1007 Radio, the "multi-hyphenate" acknowledged that he's "currently working on Ant-Man from Marvel," and that he won't exactly be a villain. When the radio host stereotypically asked if the American Gangster actor will be playing a gangster in the Marvel adaptation, T.I. said he was not and that he "can't really talk too much about it.... but I will say I play a superhero's homeboy." So, basically T.I. is playing an ally of Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, who is a criminal and con man in Ant-Man before suiting up as the size-shifting superhero . What do you think?

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly, David Dastmalchian, Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, Wood Harris, John Slattery and Gregg Turkington with multi-hyphenate T.I., and the film will release July 17, 2015
