Andrew Barrer And Gabriel Ferrari Confirmed As ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Writers

Peyton Reed already hinted that we'd see the same team of writers on Marvel's Ant-Man sequel, and it's been confirmed Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari will join Paul Rudd to pen the first draft.

Deadline has confirmed that scribes Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari will return to work on the first draft of the script for Marvel's sequel, Ant-Man And The Wasp. According to the site, Adam Mckay will help to develop the main story, before Barrer and Ferrari join Paul Rudd (who will also play Scott Lang in the movie) pen the actual screenplay. Barrer & Ferrari actually worked on the script for the first Ant-Man for six months, but didn't receive a writing credit.

It seems Peyton Reed is also officially on board to direct. We all figured this was the case anyway, and Reed has even begun talking about his ideas for the sequel in interviews - but we hadn't heard it plainly stated by any reputable sources until now.

The follow up to Marvel's most recent blockbuster will obviously feature an expanded role for Evangeline Lilly's Hope Van Dyne, and in a previous interview Reed stated that the relationship between the titular heroes will go to some “unexpected places".

“Part of thing that we’re going to explore, as shown in the comics, is how [the Ant-Man and Wasp] are such a great duo and partnership. Part of that, in any partnership, is how they relate to each other as people. Where will their personal relationship be at that point, and what will be their fighting style together?”

Ant-Man And The Wasp is set for a July 2, 2018 release.

As long as they can portray the Quantum Realm correctly, then I'm all for it.

Lily needs more liveliness though. But it seems like they've set things in place for them to really do what they wanted to do with these characters and this franchise as well. Looks like there will most likely be an Ant-Man trilogy. lol

The Quantum Realm is another name for the Microverse, Kind of like how the Tesseract is MCU's version of the Cosmic Cube.

Too bad, Wright isn't returning.

I'm just really curious as to what the movie will be like. They have the luxury off all the people who made this a success in the end(Adam and Paul sprucing it up, and introducing the falcon scene, Andrew and Gabriel giving Luis his funny story scenes as well as keeping the production together on a writing level and keeping everyone on their feet, Peyton keeping the film together on a directing level, still being able to imprint his vision, as well as giving us some great comedic moments, characters, and fun awesome fight sequences, this is just to recap).

So much potential because they have so much time for THIS team to work everything out and make it 100% percent there's, so more character moments, Ant man and wasp all the way, and no exposition that takes up a lot of the dialogue.

Despite the fact that I really liked the first Ant-Man, there are some really sloppy moments in the movie, odd transitions, and the dialogue is very odd in terms of a buttload of exposition and they repeat words a lot. I mean, the scene where Scott escapes prison, the dialogue exchange between Hank and Scott is sort of awkward, and Hank says "Scott" like a thousand times in the film. Sorry for the long post taking up the comment section.

Same writers as last time, cool. For this movie, there should be a more unique and less stereotypical villain.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I finally saw ant-man and oh my god it was bad Michael Pena is wasted beyond belief with stereotypical lines thrown in. Paul Rudd is ok until he kills any tension the film had. I understand it's more light hearted but for the love of god we don't need jokes every 5 minutes. It just shouldn't have been made at least the effects were ok at times

They will after what Marvel Has in Mind with Dr. Strange i believe they could make a great Microverse, the great problem will be that i will look a lot like CGI, they cant avoid that. But i believe that if you make a road movie inside the Microverse for some reason and add Hank Pym like the "Tour Guide" and add Hope and Scott making a better relationship and fighting together like a team you could make a great movie. Add Darren Cross and i believe you could have the movie of Ant Man.

Yes, it is a shame, because 50 % of Ant Man is from Edgar Wright mind even worst i believe almost all the good stuff comes from Wright.

The Big Heist Theme was Wright Idea, Scott Lang being presented like a criminal who end up stealing Ant Man suit, Edgar Wright idea, Hank Pym stalking Scott while he steal the suit to see how good he is stealing stuff and also help Scott to survive with the suit, Edgar Wright idea.

Making Hank Pym manipulate Scott to put down the charges from stealing his house, Edgar Wright idea.

All the Plot Heist Elements and Plot Points, Edgar Wright.

Almost every single one of the action scenes, also were made by Edgar Wright.

The Arch Nemesis of Third Ant Man steals the Yellow Jacket serum, now i want to see that guy like the villain from the second.

The only good things that Marvel add to Ant Man were:

-Hope Van Dyne Character Arc.

-Darren Cross like main villain after it was too dangerous to make Scott the main villain and also give Darren some Character Arc.

-Michael Peña character.

-Add the Microverse scene.

-The Scene from the beginning.

@ScarletWarlock

The movie was write by Edgar Wright, not one director can make good comedies like Edgar Wright.

Edgar Wright dont direct his movies, he give whole classes of how to direct a movie to directors and amateur guys who want to learn.

Edgar Wright script of Ant Man was make in a way to play with the camera, he in his movies plays with the camera and sadly in Ant Man Peyton Reed never plays with the camera and tries to give the same synergy that Wright give with his direction by making the movie really fast, quick and simple.

Edgar Wright by example in Ant Man was going to use his famous and really casual movement of camera to one side, left or right, to give the movie more energy, like he has done in every single one of his movies and he uses this a lot like transition from one scene to another.

In Cassie Birthday Party, when Scott opens the doors and enters, that scene needed to move from the other with that kind of transition, following the movement of Scott from Left to Right, but for some reason Peyton never knew what he was doing and give the movie only a really quick movement from scene A to scene B without any kind of energy and that felt like if you hit againts a wall and that happen a lot in this movie.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the original script also, Hank never helps Scott to escape from prison, he manipulates Scott with the charges from stealing his safe-box, he says to Scott that he will put the charges down if he does something for him. Hank also promises him to help him to see again his daughter giving him a job of some sort.

Marvel believe that was too hardcore and ask to Adam Mackey/Paul Rudd/and this Ghost Writers to make the funny scenes of Luis talking to Scott about how friends of his family tell him about this "old man" and his "safe-box", also they add the part of Hank stalking Scott for 15 years or maybe 5 years.

Adam Mackey and Paul Rudd also add Hope Van Dyne backstory and make his Character Arc the main one of the movie, also make Darren Cross the main villain, latter make Cross dont became mad thanks to Pym Particles but thanks to the cheap imitations Cross create and also they make the Microverse scene and original Swap scene.

They rewrite a lot the movie and the script to make it "safer" for kids and young people and to dont take any risk the movie would fail.

Get Rudd away from this script. Apologize to Wright and Cornish and ask them to write AM2 and pay them WHATEVER THE [frick] THEY WANT.

@Blanos

I dont have anything againts Paul Rudd and Adam Mackey, because they are the only ones i believe had done enough good fun movies in tje US who can stand againts Wright movies, because the thing the people dont see about Wright is, he is a mother[frick]ing genious, his style is unique and Ant Man was good thanks to a lot of the Edgar Wright style and bad thanks to the Peyton Reed style...

I dont have anything againts Peyton he did "Yes Man!", but sadly both movies had the same problem they are too rush, too fast, too quick and sadly have the classic cliche third Act.

A lot of the plot holes are thanks to this two writers rewrites, yes they did one of the best comedy writers want to be away of his project, if that dont say you something i dont know what will...

The stupid explanation of how Hank Pym atalked Scott Lang for 5 years because it wasnt enough for him to watch how Scott steal his suit to understand he could help him to steal the suit from another person in the size of an Ant.

The scene of Scott getting out of jail with the help of Hhnk Pym, when in the original script they forge a friendship, Pym manipulates Scott with dropping the charges of stealing his safe-box, if he help him and he will give him a job also to get back his daughter!

Why Darren Cross cant be like a drug addict but with Pym Particles? Because this writers think this isnt right.

Also i hate when a movie needs to retell that everything was the mastermind plan of somebody (in this case Hank Pym) because the writers behind the rewrite doesnt know how to wrote good scene without explanations for 5-years old. I believe is a big piece of shit, make Pym manipulates Scott to steal his safe-box when you see all the scene and is stupid, dont make sense, IS FREACKING STUPID MOTHER [frick]ERS!

But again thst doesnt mean that Paul Rudd is a great and brings a lot to the movie, because in some way he was the one who let Corey Stoll character Darren Cross became bigger in the script and have a better Character Arc, that save i could say 50 % of the movie, because when i tslk about Ant Man i only think about MOTHER [frick]ING DARREN CROSS!

Also Hope was good, maybe cheesy, maybe chicleh, maybe shitty, but was a complete character Arc and like in this movie we never get to see the characters how humans really are, emotional, close, open, funny, dark.

At less here we get something...

But pkease let Paul Rudd do rhe job, because you are freaking wrong if you believe this guys havw aby talent in their bodies, they only rewrite some parts from an alredy great script and almost all the Edgar Wright action scenes remain there in the fibal movie that tell you something...
