ANT-MAN 3: Michael Douglas Confirms Return As Hank Pym And Reveals When Shooting Starts

On Friday, it was revealed that a third Ant-Man movie is in development at Marvel Studios with Peyton Reed set to return as director. That debunked those sketchy rumours about the Ant-Man and The Wasp sequel being released as a series on Disney+, and now Michael Douglas has revealed when filming starts on the next solo outing for Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne.

According to the actor, not only will he return as Hank Pym, but work will begin on the threequel in January 2021. That puts it on track for a 2022/2023 release date, which was also reported on Friday.

Needless to say, there's a lot of excitement surrounding the movie, especially as the last instalment only really teased the Quantum Realm and never elaborated on what happened to Janet Van Dyne while she was trapped there. Throw in the fact that Cassie Lang is now older and surely primed to become Stature, and Ant-Man 3 promises to be a must-see.

Marvel Studios has a busy few years ahead between its big and small screen offerings, and it will be interesting to see how this movie fits into Kevin Feige's larger plans for the MCU.

Do a Hank and Janet prequel Disney+ series. Set during the late 60s, height of the Cold War era.

I hope Marvel tries to do something special with Ant-Man 3, because I forgot everything about the second movie the minute I walked out of the theater. Ant-Man definitely feels like the most toothless MCU franchise.

Can't wait for it! I know there's some divisiveness with the Ant-Man movies here, but I would probably say they're my favorite MCU movies, because I just get a sense of pure fun out of them than any others.
