Jonathan Majors' criminal defence lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, has shared new evidence she believes will stand to her client's innocence.
The Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star was taken into police custody on the morning of March 25 after an alleged assault on a woman (believed to be his girlfriend) in a New York City apartment.
Shortly after, Chaudhry released a statement claiming that Majors was completely innocent, and "probably the victim," promising to present evidence that would clear him of any criminal wrongdoing.
"The police arrived with the paramedics, as is standard procedure, and arrested Mr. Majors due to an NYPD protocol requiring arrest in certain circumstances. On that same day, only 7 and 9 hours later, the woman sent text messages to Mr. Majors admitting that she was the one who used physical force against him."
Now, we have at least some of those messages from the woman in question (via TMZ).
In the texts, the alleged victim says it was her fault for "trying to grab your phone." We're not really sure how this plays in Majors' favor, to be honest, as it still indicates that some sort of physical altercation took place.
If this woman decides not to press charges, though, Majors will likely walk no matter what actually went down.
We'll be sure to keep you guys updated on this situation.
