The latest trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania made it very clear that Janet Van Dyne was still keeping some secrets about her time spent trapped in the Quantum Realm from her family, and strongly implied that she may have some kind of prior relationship with Kang the Conqueror.
Now, Michelle Pfeiffer has confirmed that her character does indeed know Jonathan Majors' time-travelling villain - very well, by the sounds of it!
“She does have a very rich history with Kang, and unresolved issues,” she tells Empire Magazine. “The Quantum Realm can change a person, and you can have a whole other life down there. It’s something that she hasn’t wanted to get into.”
Is there a chance Janet and Kang had some sort of romantic relationship? It's certainly possible, but the prevailing theory points to the original Wasp serving as the Conqueror's right-hand woman during his reign of terror in the Quantum Realm.
Check out a new still featuring Van Dyne below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.
Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
The sci-fi adventure opens in theaters on Feb. 17, 2023.
