ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Concept Art Reveals Alternate Kang Design

Some early concept art for Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been shared online, giving us a look at an alternate design for the villainous Kang (Jonathan Majors)...

After debuting as He Who Remains in the season finale of Loki, Jonathan Majors went on to play a much more intimidating Kang Variant in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The villain's overall appearance was pretty comic-accurate - when he was masked-up, at least - but an earlier design for the character looked even closer to the Conqueror's comic book counterpart.

Artist Aleksi Briclot shared the following to Instagram, giving us a look at a design he worked on before Majors was cast. It's actually not a million miles away from what we saw on the screen, but the costume is definitely a little more colourful and "comic-booky" overall.

Check out the artwork below, and let us know which design you prefer.

In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.

@GhostDog -

I don't think he looks like a dope at all. I think that is a pretty good look.

I know this is more accurate but is it me or does he look like a mime street performer? I think the face coloring and those lines are giving Cirque Du Soleil. 🤡

He looks ok, but my god he's an utterly pathetic villain.

@Humperdink - yeah, I also had this impression, it's the mouth that gives the clown vibe.

I like the movie version better.
