ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Star Evangeline Lilly Praises New Cassie Lang Actress Kathryn Newton

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star Evangeline Lilly has praised the Marvel Cinematic Universe's new Cassie Lang, Kathryn Newton, expressing excitement to work with her co-star in the upcoming movie.

Detective Pikachu star Kathryn Newton takes over the role of Scott Lang's daughter, Cassie, in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. This was made official during Disney's Investor Day last year, and it seems Marvel Studios wanted a bigger star than relative newcomer Emma Fuhrmann (who played the character in Avengers: Endgame).

Evangeline Lilly recently shared a first look at the threequel's script, and seemingly confirmed that Corey Stoll will make his return as Darren Cross/Yellowjacket. That's not outside the realm of possibility after he was seemingly pulled into the Quantum Realm, and the actress has now once again taken to social media, this time to praise the Marvel Cinematic Universe's new Cassie.

"Just got off the phone with Kathryn Newton I AM SO EXCITED TO HAVE HER JOINING OUR CAST! #smart #dedicated #respectful #humble #beautiful" she says in the post below.

Newton would later respond via an Instagram Story, noting "Low key freaking out I love Evangeline Lilly so much!" It's great that these two have already bonded, especially as it would make sense for The Wasp to take Cassie - who may become Stature or Stinger in this movie - under her wing and train her as a superhero (likely to Scott's chagrin as the girl's father).

For all the love that Marvel (and the brilliant Sarah Finn) get for their casting, and they deserve every bit of it.... what the actual hell happened with the Endgame casting of kids?

No offense to Fuhrmann (she absolutely delivered an incredible emotional moment) but if a grown up Cassie Lang was going to be a long term role, why didn't Marvel cast it that way? And no offense to the Family Russo, but you guys all have a distinctive look and it's painfully obvious that Hawkeye's daughter is related to the random kids at the diner and the dude at the support group. I see you Russos...

I probably already know the answer, but could Marvel have considered using their aging/de-aging technology in these situations?
