Evangeline Lilly first played Hope Van Dyne in 2015's Ant-Man, but finally got the chance to suit up three years later in Ant-Man and The Wasp. However, that action-heavy role took its toll on the actress, and she's now opened up about her lengthy recovery and training for the upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
"After two years of illness, injury and slow and gentle recovery, it is time, once again, for me to turn my sights back to Wasp," she says in the posts below. "Quantumania here I come...even if I have to hobble to get there!"
She later added: "I am so grateful that he [Eric Goodman] will hopefully help me be able to do justice to this epic heroine one more time."
With these comments comes a glimpse into the work that Lilly is doing in order to bring The Wasp back to the big screen, and that includes a beachside workout video.
The actress is clearly putting a lot of effort into making sure she's ready to play Hope when shooting begins later this year. However, it's hard to say whether Lilly will want to continue beyond that if the past two years have been spent recovering from her last Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance.
We're not trying to read too much into anything here, but she does talk about playing The Wasp "one more time," so perhaps this is where's Hope's story ends?
