ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Will Indeed Feature The Return Of Corey Stoll As Darren Cross/Yellowjacket

Evangeline Lilly seemingly confirmed this on social media a while ago, but reliable sources are now reporting that Ant-Man star Corey Stoll is indeed set to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe return...

Sharing her excitement to begin work on Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, star Evangeline Lilly recently shared a post listing off her co-stars, including "#CoreyStoll." Many of us assumed it might have been a simple mistake, but it turns out the Ant-Man star will indeed appear in the upcoming threequel.

This is a surprise considering he seemingly died in the 2015 movie after being shrunk down into the Quantum Realm, but the theories that he might have found a way to survive were seemingly correct.

If Yellowjacket has been in the Quantum Realm all this time, chances are he's gained some new abilities (similar to Janet Van Dyne), and if Kang the Conqueror is currently calling the realm home, then we could be about to see a dangerous alliance. Remember, this week's episode of Loki featured a giant Yellowjacket helmet in The Void, a place many fans believe could be adjacent to Kang's lair.

In Vanity Fair's "Still Watching" podcast, senior writer Joanna Robinson addressed that Easter Egg, saying: "I don't know if that's an indication of something to come, but do know that Corey Stoll, in some shape, will be back for Ant-Man 3."

It's hard to believe the two things aren't connected in some way, and short of a bizarre ending revealing that Miss Minutes is Loki's big bad, all the signs do seem to be pointing to Kang's debut. Jonathan Majors is playing the character, but he's had so many personas (including Rama-Tut and Immortus), it's entirely feasible the MCU's version could be another Loki variant.

Good. He worked nicely as a villain. He did a great job at making me hate him. Great actor.

This way the movie can have an ending where the villain is defeated without throwing Kang under bus. Presuming he is Kang's lackey or the like, and not just quick cameo.

@FinnishDude - I'm starting to think Marvel Studios didn't realize how big they would get and regret killing off or botching certain villains in the beginning. As you can see they are now keeping villains alive such as Zemo and Agatha. They are also bringing back past villains in creative ways such as Red Skull and now Abomination.

What if kang is the “boss” every bad guy was working for in the antman films

Who ever that secret person was kang could easily fit that

@THATNICEGUY - They would need to give Kang a human appearance as Nathaniel Richards to make it believable. It would be too far fetched for a bunch of organized crime members to work for an Alien looking being. It would be cool to see Kang in his true form in the Quantum Realm and him having to use all of his power to conjure an illusion of a human which is why he wants Loki's pruned and captured so they could teach him.

@SonOfAGif - hell yes…and just so we are in the same page I assumed they would give him a human for as well I just didn’t state it in the comment, but thank you for taking what was in my mind and writing it much better than I could have lol

The Yellow jacket suit looks Miles better than Ant-Mans suit,Shame it didn't look like the comic book version but still cool costume.

Nice. Dude is a pretty good actor. Even though the quality went down over the years he was consistently good on The Strain.

I like this. Not only does it reflect Marvel’s recent efforts to have more enduring villains, but it also might point to him having an interesting role as a sort of right-hand man to Kang- especially since it appears that Stoll’s role has been more or less “under wraps”.

I really liked the first Ant-Man film. Not sure if wha I liked about it was from Reed or actually from Edgar Wright though.

Glad this character is returning and hopefully they’ll also tie up the loose ends with Mitchell Carson and Sonny Burch.

Or both?

@LSHF - True. I think both types of humor from each director worked in that case. And of course Paul Rudd having done his own rewrites made it more enjoyable for sure
