ANT-MAN & THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA - Corey Stoll's Darren Cross Rumored To Return... As M.O.D.O.K.!

Word got out that Ant-Man villain Corey Stoll was set to return for Quantumania earlier this year, but a new rumor is claiming that his character, Darren Cross, will be transformed into M.O.D.O.K.!

We've known for a while now that Corey Stoll (The Many Saints of Newark) was set to reprise the role of Darren Cross for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, but we doubt anyone would have guessed exactly how he'll be brought back.

It was generally assumed that Cross would return as Yellowjacket to seek revenge against Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) for banishing him to the Quantum Realm at the end of the first movie, but insider Daniel Richtman is claiming that Stoll will actually play M.O.D.O.K.!

This is just a rumor for now, of course, but it would make a certain amount of sense. While the notion of Cross being somehow transformed into the megalomaniacal villain might seem far-fetched, it would explain why we haven't seen the character in so many years, and  M.O.D.O.K. has been strongly rumored to make his MCU debut in the threequel (we had heard that Jim Carrey might be in line to play the bizarre-looking baddie).

This is obviously a pretty major rumor, so we can probably expect the trades to weigh in fairly soon if there's any truth to it.

Peyton Reed will step back behind the camera for Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne's (Evangeline Lilly) next adventure, which will feature the return of Jonathan Majors as the villainous Kang the Conqueror and the debut of Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang.

Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer are set to return as Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne. "Wombats" Luis (Michael Peña) and Kurt (David Dastmalchian) will also be back as Scott Lang's (Paul Rudd) sidekicks, but T.I. (Dave) is believed to have been dropped from the movie amid multiple allegations of sexual assault against him and his wife.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to hit theaters on July 28, 2023.

This is pretty fricking awesome if true. I loved his take on Yellowjacket and wish we got more, or he came back out of the Quantum Realm even crazier.

@Superspecialawesomeguy -

I take this with a boulder of salt, but given Ms. Marvel went from embiggening to emblasting I will take a wait and see a trailer approach.

The way his body got all crunched up and sent to the quantum realm could explain a transition into modok. Body disfigured, gets some kind of tech/magic in the qr that makes him a version of modok 🤷🏽‍♂️

Guys, this is crap. I have it on good authority that Peyton Reed invites many people to the sets of his films. This is why Stoll (who was also on set for the 2nd film) and Steinfeld were there.

I hope that’s not the case, I desperately want Bill Murray’s role to be MODOK

I prefer that Cross returned as a member of A.I.M. The yellow jackets of A.I.M. led by Darren.

If they introduce M.O.D.O.K., and they don't give Rainn Wilson a call, then casting has seriously dropped the ball.

As long as it’s not Patton Oswolt, I don’t care if they exume Tony stark and make him modok

Wow, I really was looking forward to Carrey as the character. However, Stoll coming back is great for continuity. I trust Marvel in their casting.

I always doubt anything Daniel Richtman says. Aside from some (pretty obvious) trailer drops, I can't seem to remember this guy being right on anything
