The Kang Dynasty Begins In Epic ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Extended TV Spot

A new extended TV spot for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania teases Scott Lang's epic war with Kang the Conqueror, and it's quickly made clear just how significant a threat he is to the wider MCU...

As excitement for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania continues to grow, it's becoming increasingly clear that this is no normal Ant-Man movie. We've been hearing that for a while, of course, but it's made clear in this new minute-long TV spot that Kang the Conqueror is a vastly more deadly foe than the likes of Yellowjacket and Ghost!

This footage drives home what a massive, unbelievably powerful, threat Kang is to Ant-Man, though the two will be forced to become unlikely allies due to a shared mission: escaping the Quantum Realm.

A rough plot outline for the threequel leaked online some time ago, and while we won't be getting into spoilers here, we can tell you that Marvel Studios has made some significant changes to the movie since. So, anything you thought you know about this latest Ant-Man adventure is more than likely wrong!

Witness the beginning of The Kang Dynasty in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania in the player below.

In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Directed by Peyton Reed, the threequel also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz, and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in theaters on February 17.

I’m excited for Kang —- got to say I didn’t expect him to show in an Antman movie first though.

Soooo can't wait for this.

How soon do all the goofy box office predicters start throwing goofy guesses at it?

I am guessing 6 trillion $, and I'm taking the over.

@DocSpock - I'm hearing possibly as much as both Avatar movies combined. And that's just domestic. It's from a reliable source: I put a calculator in my clothes dryer and checked the answer after a 42 minute cycle. Now, I know that it's not as reliable as a Magic 8-Ball or a Ouija Board but that all I've got to go on right now.

@StSteven -

You will now be my prediction guru.

Now I need your take for Indy 5.

@DocSpock - Hold on just a sec. Based on the last movie, this one is going to require some extra juju. Be right back... (drives through KFC and gets a 3 piece meal (extra crispy of course, as fried chicken should be).

Sorry, sucking down that chicken...

Gah! Okay, let's toss those chicken bones and see where they land. Aaaaand... Indy 5 is looking at an opening compared to the combined net worth of Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, and Google. BUT, the bones say that that's international, so no word yet on domestic. I'll give you an update after I have some tea and have some leaves to work with there.

Hot Take Prediction: We don't know it yet, but this movie will be the end of Kang's arc. I bet The Kang Dynasty will have the Avengers stranding him in the Quantum Realm by the end.

@uncletoodles -
I think the multiverse war with all the Kangs that was mentioned in Loki is the events of a future Avengers movie and that the resolution has already happened.

I think it'll probably do around the same as Ant-Man and the Wasp, probably with a level of drop-off from Phase 4 and the change in tone and direction of the Ant-Man franchise, but still performing reasonably. I don't think it'd attract new people though as the marketing for this film has been garbage, doing a play-by-play of the entire movie.

People only seem invested in this due to Kang, but to me Kang is a villain you do for maybe a movie or two after Endgame with to tackle the time travel problems, deal with the consequences of Tony's death and then do a full reboot. Dragging him out like this is silly, same with the whole multiverse concept, it's not engaging enough to carry three phases with the promise of multiverse exploration.

Nothing story-telling wise from the MCU has been engaging since "Loki," which came out one and a half years ago. NWH just tied up the first MCU Spidey arc while Strange 2 ultimately was a nothing-burger. I have high expectations for Ant-Man 2 to get the MCU out of the doldrums. Bring it on.

We need Ant-Man to be epic & wash Thor 4 out of our brains.
