The first trailer for Aquaman debuted over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, but IMDB has now released a version with added commentary from director James Wan.

Right from the first shot of Arthur Curry's father finding Queen Atlanna washed ashore near his lighthouse to the final glimpse of the future King of Atlantis leaping out of a plane, Wan breaks down everything that we see in the teaser, while also providing some additional insight into what we can expect from the overall plot.

Some interesting stuff there, we're sure you'll agree.

What did you guys think of the first trailer for Aquaman? Drop us a comment in the usual place.

I like Wan.

He seems very passionate about filmmaking, and it shows in his work.

I wish he talked about why they keep copy and pasting that "WOO HOOO" yell whenever Aquaman is falling through the sky.

I'm excited for the movie, but there's a couple shots in the trailer that reminds me of The Phantom Menace. And Amber Heard's hair looks awful, it's just really distracting to me. Anyways, the trailer was fine, but the promise behind it all is just really encouraging. I'm glad we're at a place where DC movies can be cranked out consistently and seemingly not be divisive.

@ScarletWarlock - Yea it does have a lot of promise. I am a little worried that Wan is basically mashing 3/4 of the Geoff Johns run together, plus an origin story, which might leave certain aspects underdeveloped. But if the script is good, then we'll have a great movie. I'm still really excited for it.

After watching the Conan interview with the cast and Baywatch I am sold on Yahya Abdul-Mateen, that dude is charismatic and funny as hell. I don't want to sound like that guy because I want Aquaman to succeed, but if it doesn't Marvel should snatch Mateen up for a role. Maybe Bushman for Moon Knight?

@NOVAtheSUPA - I liked when he booked the role then told his agent he didnt know how to swim, then spent the whole time of the shoot trying to learn to swim in secret. Dudes relatable as hell.

I like Wans enthusiasm for the movie. But i do hope he removes that "whoooohooo" chant from the film. Its [frick]ing stupid. It sounds like goofy.

I still like the trailer but after watching it on my 65 inch TV you can tell the CGI needs some work.

Still waiting to see if Jason can act :)
