The Hollywood Reporter reveals that David Leslie Johnson (Red Riding Hood) is set to write Aquaman for Warner Bros. and director James Wan. He started off his career as Frank Darabont's assistant before writing Wrath of the Titans for the studio, and he's no stranger to working with Wan after penning the screenplay for The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist. It was originally reported that Will Beall and Kurt Johnstad were writing dueling scripts for the King of Atlantis' first movie which will see Jason Momoa take on the leading role. The trade adds that, "One source said that Johnson would be a third rail on the development track however several sources said Johnson is working with Wan to streamline the project."
