Den of Geek has unveiled an awesome Aquaman SDCC magazine cover, and in addition to new looks at the likes of Mera and Atlanna, we get our first glimpses of Ocean Master in his helmet, Vuko, and more...
Yesterday brought us the first theatrical poster for James Wan's Aquaman, and now we have an awesome new SDCC magazine cover courtesy of Den of Geek which provides a first glimpse of several major characters.
We have already seen Patrick Wilson's Orm, a.k.a. Ocean Master, without his helmet, but here he is sporting his very comic-accurate armor for the first time. We also see Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen in his Black Manta garb, and the ferocious creatures known as The Trench.
The cover art was inspired by an illustration from DC Comics artists Ivan Reis, Joe Prado, and Marcelo Maiolo.
“The inspiration behind this original work was those classic comic book covers that gave the reader a look at the characters involved in the story and also hints of, and a feel for, their worlds,” the DC film's producer Peter Safran reveals. “It was commissioned by James Wan in the very early R and D stages of pre-production, as he was beginning to define the worlds in which our film would live. It was not originally intended to be a one sheet, but we all loved it so much that we had the idea to transform it into a photorealistic version and use it as a poster.”
And what a poster it makes! If this doesn't get you hyped for the first Aquaman trailer this Saturday, nothing will.
