To promote the new Aqauamn display that's coming to Madame Tussauds wax museum in Orlando, Florida, Warner Bros. has debuted a new image of Jason Momoa's future King of The Seven Seas decked-out in his comic-accurate green and orange/gold armor, trident in hand.

This classic outfit has been teased for a while now via promotional art and the like, but we finally got our first proper live-action look at Momoa sporting the costume in the most recent trailer (see above).

Check out the pic below, and just in case you missed it, click HERE to see an awesome extended TV spot featuring Ocean Master, Black Manta and more.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.

Aquaman swims into theaters on December 21.

Looks great! Mamoa's casting has definitely grown on me.

@Benjamitesandwich - same. Momoa as an actor in general has grown on me. At first my hatred was colored by my ex being obsessed with him in Stargate, but he has grown on me.

It looks good for what it is but I’ve never liked the classic suit design just like I’ve never like the classic Captain America suit. I actually prefer King Atlans armored look better as opposed to the slimmer suit he has in this. Probably in the minority but the armored look is just better for me personally.

@Ha1frican -

That suit does look better.

It's easier on the eyes and less "cheesy" even if it isn't accurate to the original.

The problem with Momoa in the comic accurate costume is that he is super gigantic and super grizzly, so putting him in something so golden and vibrant is always going to look a little ridiculous. That and the gauntlets and boot fins are way too pronounced. It's not a bad costume - quite the opposite - it's just that he doesn't really look right in it. Oddly, Snyder's costume from JL worked much better for Momoa specifically

Which of course brings us back to the DCEU's central issue: Casting

@OmegaDaGrodd - i dont know I don’t like that design even on his classic appearance in the comics it just doesn’t really work for me on any level

@Ha1frican - The central problem with the JL armored look is the coloring, the green, gold and brown are so muted that they seem to blend into each other. But I agree that Momoa looks better in the armored look, but I am a sucker for the cheesy colorful classic costumes and love the film suit, even if Momoa looks weird in it.

Great, but please no more marketing material or looks at the suit until the movie drops. The suit being a hot reveal is starting to wear off and I dont want its appeal to lose its magic cuz of over saturation.

@Solarkalel85 - but i love well executed marketing material, I'm always on the hunt for posters and things to display on my walls. But you make a valid point.

The fins on the gauntlets and boots look a little too big and cosplay-ish in photos. Perhaps if they were just a little bit more subtle.

There's no doubt though that Jason looks super badass in that suit though. I think it was really inspired casting to cast him as Aquaman.

I'm excited for Aquaman but have to say that Momoa just comes across as a likeable dude.

That beats any MCU costume, the MCU makes their costume look extremely like the comics, but this is literally pulling a costume from page to screen, havent seen a costume this 100% accurate since

@BlackBeltJones - Did Iron Man look like that before the movies, all I ever find online are the classic designs and recent stuff, nothing from the early 2000's

God, I LOVE this look so much. It's accurate, but doesn't make the classic Aquaman suit look silly on the big-screen. Speaking of Aquaman suits, am I the only one who actually really liked the BvS suit? The hair was fake af, but that suit >>>>>

Perfection!!!!!

I mean come on! Aquaman has one costume that I though could never be translated to live action.
