Avengers: Doomsday: Fans Notice A Bizarre Steve Rogers Change In The Latest TV Spot

Avengers: Doomsday fans have spotted a curious difference in Chris Evans' appearance between the first trailer and the latest TV spot, sparking wild theories about Steve Rogers' MCU return.

With so much excitement surrounding Avengers: Doomsday, it's hardly surprising that fans are poring over every frame of new footage for clues. However, we didn't expect them to notice a difference in Chris Evans' appearance between the first trailer and this weekend's TV spot.

The actor reprises his role as Steve Rogers, returning to the MCU as the character for the first time since 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

Aboard the Fantastic Four's spaceship, Steve appears to reunite with Thor and, to prove he's the real deal, calls Mjolnir to him (despite rumours that his actions caused the Multiverse's collapse, the Avenger is obviously still worthy).

Now, eagle-eyed fans have noticed that Marvel Studios appears to have used VFX to change Evans' nose and hairline. There's a clear difference between the trailer and TV spot, though we can't discount the possibility that this is down to lighting or reshoots. Either way, Evans is now seven years older than when he shot Avengers: Endgame, so the idea may simply be to make him look more like the 2019-era Cap.

This has sparked some wild fan theories, of course, including the possibility that Loki has disguised himself as Steve. We wouldn't necessarily bank on that, but stranger things have happened in the MCU.

"It was almost like going back to 2011 on the first Avengers, because at the beginning of that, you’re kind of the new kid on the block and you’re excited to even be there," Evans previously said of his Avengers: Doomsday experience. "I would find myself during that movie watching."

He continued, "You’re in the scene, but then you’re just like, 'Robert Downey Jr. is playing Tony Stark! F---, I have a line.' And on this one, I felt that a little bit again, just watching you do this thing that I couldn’t wait to see."

It's also worth noting that both shots appear to be from slightly different angles—as you'll see in the screenshots below—so this may be much ado about nothing.

Can’t be Loki. He’s able to pick up Mjölnir.

@philinterrupted - surely Loki is now worthy after the end of Loki season 2. He is burdened with glorious purpose after all

@tRuckRogers46A - That is a GREAT argument!!!
That might be the ONLY other person it could be.
Steve wouldn't become unworthy for something he had NO IDEA he was doing. That's just a "butterfly effect" ripples in a pond.
But LOKI becoming WORTHY for saving the multiverse? F**kin-A!
LOOOOOVE THAT IDEA!

@dragon316 - kinda reminds me of the CyberLeek guy leaking tons of GTA 6 gameplay. As soon as the extended trailer dropped nobody cared. The game will be out next month and when it's in our hands nobody will even remember the leaks.

Here's a fun thing I like to do. I like to watch old YouTube videos of people speculating on these movies. Fan theories, fake script leaks, and massive reaches. It's fun to see how wrong most of them were.

I noticed it immediately. I thought he was wearing too much makeup in the new spot with the MLB players.

There does seem to be changes made to Evans’s nose and hairline to me in the pictures above which could be to de-age & make him look a bit younger so if that’s the case then fine as long as it’s not really distracting in the film itself.

Anyway , I still have my reservations about Steve being brought back for this but I think the Russo’s will treat him well given how close he is to them as a character!!.

imagine having time to analyze a shot in a trailer, to the point you recognize the difference in a later tv spot.

[frick]ing wild.

Maybe its just me but the more I look at this "Steve" the more I see that this guy looks NOTHING like Steve Rogers from all the other movies. He is soooo much smaller than The First Avenger; although I understand that was in the 1940's. He just looks frail to me. I do not think this is the real Steve. Am I the only one that thinks this?

I never understood why ppl will pay money for something like this. To change the size of someone’s nose onscreen? Like bro, that money could’ve went to something way more productive smh
