Avengers: Doomsday SDCC Poster Revealed As Hayley Atwell And Grey-Suited Deadpool Crash Hall H

A new Avengers: Doomsday poster puts the spotlight on Doctor Doom following a Comic-Con panel that featured new footage and surprise appearances from Hayley Atwell and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool.

Marvel Studios brought big Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3 news to San Diego Comic-Con, along with a surprise appearance from Spider-Man: Brand New Day star Jon Bernthal, who shared an extended clip from the movie showing Spidey and Frank Castle fighting The Hulk.

The entire Avengers: Doomsday cast was also on hand, with Peggy Carter actress Hayley Atwell now officially part of the movie's ensemble. We'd expected that, of course, but she was absent from the chair reveal and subsequent cast lists.

The biggest surprise came when Ryan Reynolds showed up in the crowd as Deadpool. He asked the cast and creative team some tongue-in-cheek questions and seemed to imply he won't be in the movie after wondering aloud when filming begins.

As you'll see below, Reynolds was wearing a new grey Deadpool costume, which we're guessing will be what he wears in Avengers: Doomsday. Remember, several reliable sources have pointed to the Merc with a Mouth having a key role in that and 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars.

There was no X-Men reboot news in Hall H, though we're hearing that it's being saved for D23 next month. Marvel Studios did share a new Avengers: Doomsday trailer with fans, and while it hasn't been released online, we do have a poster putting the spotlight on Doctor Doom.

Here's a description of the footage shown to attendees, via @AvengersUpdated:

"Sue Storm describes Victor Von Doom. She knew he was a lot but didn't know how broken he was. Doom says that all of these people have lived stolen lives and now they must give them back. Reed grabs Victor's shirt and yells, 'Answer me, Victor, did you do this?' Thor tries to bring the axe down on his head, but Doom flicks it aside with ease before yeeting Thor away with his green sorcery. He raises the Sentinels and turns into the frame, full of so much power."

It was also revealed that Mister Fantastic and Doctor Doom do have a history, potentially confirming rumours that Victor also hails from Earth-828 in the MCU. Not much else was revealed in terms of story details, but Robert Downey Jr. did tease, "Decisions will have to be made, you're either on the side of the good guys, or perhaps, you may consider the alternative of perhaps joining the family of Doom."

Stay tuned for more on Avengers: Doomsday as we have it.

I am so glad they only announced two movies. Now I'm sure at d23 they're going to announce 500 movies but for now I like how they're keeping it simple.

It's sad when a marvel SDCC panel can only have enough content for 3 articles. This used to be like at least 8-9. Like marvel used to say they'd only come to SDCC if they had something big. I guess they changed their minds

@Mrcool210 - I guess doing like slate reveals & such is a thing of the past given how much can change or just not happen as we have seen.

Plus they probably don’t want to give away too much post Doomsday & SW.

Also we have D23 and NYCC this year too hence some news can be saved for then too.
