Avengers: Doomsday boasts an impressive cast, but it's still missing some big names. Chief among them are Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen, the MCU's Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch.
Both are rumoured to have key roles in this and Avengers: Secret Wars, which makes sense on multiple levels. Strange was Doctor Doom's closest ally in Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic's Secret Wars comic, while Wanda Maximoff's reality-warping powers should be key to creating Battleworld.
We have two major updates today, starting with Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch stunt double, Jennifer White, sharing yet another hint that she's one of Avengers: Doomsday's Latverian Witches.
Victor Von Doom rescuing Wanda from beneath Mount Wundagore and manipulating her makes sense, especially as we know he's gathering—and likely corrupting—Earth-616's heroes to serve him (Avengers: Endgame Encore ended with the villain kidnapping The Hulk).
On Disney+, the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness landing page has been updated with an Avengers: Doomsday background to signify that it's essential viewing before watching the movie. That feels like another big hint they'll return this December, so now we'll have to wait and see if that's the case.
"I've been really proud of what we’ve been able to make. Really proud. But I don’t have an answer for that," Olsen previously said when asked if she'll return as Wanda for Avengers: Doomsday. "Well, I can’t. Honestly, I do wait. I want to see [her] return in this role because I think what they’ve done with her is really great, and I love the journey she’s taken."
"I think it’s always a fun one to get to go back into, and I just have no idea how or when, for sure," she claimed, leaving fans to wonder what's next for the MCU's Scarlet Witch.
Stay tuned for updates as we have them and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
