Avengers: Endgame is finally available on digital platforms, and that means we can now take a deep dive into everything included on the, well, not disc but...download! Marvel Studios has included a number of featurettes and deleted/extended scenes, and we're taking a look at the latter here.

While there's no sign of some key moments (Tony Stark's meeting with the adult Morgan in Soul World, for example), there are some great deleted scenes here and while one or two of them have been released online, there are quite a few which obviously haven't been seen before now.

Below, you'll find a breakdown of each scene, along with a look at what they tell us about the movie and why they most likely ended up on the cutting room floor. So, to check out this look at Avengers: Endgame's deleted scenes in its entirety, all you guys have to do is click on the "View List" button below!

At Home With Tony Stark

Tony-Pepper

A scene that was clearly meant to serve as Tony Stark's reintroduction after that five year time-jump, we see Tony and Pepper spending some quality time together in the kitchen preparing a meal for them and their daughter. It's a nice little sequence that sets the mood and shows us the hero's new home life, but not one that was really essential.

The fact that Pepper refers to their daughter in this scene would have also lessened the impact of that big reveal in the film itself when Tony heads out into the garden to find Morgan.

Why Captain America Crashed That Plane

Rhodey-Cap

As Steve Rogers and Rhodey recap the history of the Infinity Stones, the latter has some big questions about why the Tesseract ended up at the bottom of the ocean during World War II.

Asking Cap why he found it necessary to crash the plane, Steve explains that it was because it was full of bombs. However, he's not so quick to answer why he didn't just jump out before it went into the ice and the scene ends before we find out!

It's a great little moment, and one it would have been nice to see in the final cut. However, it's easy to see why it went.

Blowing Up The Mothership

Team

Some surveillance footage from 2012 is shown as Captain America battles the Chitauri aliens, and Rocket questions Earth's Mightiest Heroes about exactly how long they were fighting them. When Black Widow mentions that it was at least two or three hours, the Guardian bursts into laughter and simply can't understand why it took them that long to stop the "suckiest" army in the galaxy.

After Steve admits that they didn't realise blowing up the mothership was an option, Rocket's laughter is cut short when Tony uses a razor to shave the top of his head!

Thor Needs To Focus

Thor-Rocket-2

In 2013 era Asgard, the God of Thunder takes a leak much to the disgust of Rocket. The Guardian tries to talk him round but with no luck, especially as Thor is well aware that they're just hours away from an attack from the Dark Elves which will result in the death of his mother and countless Asgardians.

As Thor fumbles to find the device Rocket needs to retrieve the Aether, we see that his pockets are full of candy bars and this explains why Rocket is the one to take it from Jane while Thor meets with his mother. It's a fun scene, but one which wasn't necessary in an already lengthy movie.

Leaving A Better World Behind

Tony-Howard

In a brief exchange with his father Howard Stark as they leave that military bunker, Tony talks about how they both want to leave a better world behind them and the pressures of doing that for their children. It's during this part of their conversation that Howard offers his son a job!

It's unclear whether he's referring to S.H.I.E.L.D. or Stark Industries, but this a cool little scene that would have been nice to see included - even if it wouldn't have added much to the final cut.

The Heroes Take A Knee

Guardians

After Tony Stark draws his last breath, the shocked heroes surrounding him all take a knee to pay tribute to the fallen Avenger who sacrificed himself in order to put an end to the Mad Titan.

While it's nice to see them pay their respects, it doesn't really make sense for some of the characters who never even met him to pay tribute like this, while the whole thing comes across a little over the top and nowhere near as good as the funeral scene we ended up getting.

However, Doctor Strange's reaction is very interesting, as he looks particularly broken up by what's happened.

Gamora's Escape

Gamora1

Part of the same scene as the one mentioned above, Gamora watches on as the heroes take a knee. and this confirms that she obviously survived the third snap and wasn't dusted alongside the Mad Titan and his army.

It's safe to assume that Marvel Studios wanted to keep Gamora's fate ambigiuous, hence why even a different version of this moment didn't make it into the movie.

Have you guys watched Avengers: Endgame's deleted scenes yet? Which of them do you think should have been left in the final cut? Let us know your thoughts on that in the comments section.

newly released images from Avengers: Endgame!

Captain America, with Mjolnir in hand, stands ready for the fight of his life against Thanos here. If Avengers: Endgame really does mark Chris Evans' final MCU appearance, he went out on a high.

THOR ABIDES

Bro Thor bids farewell to Valkyrie during this scene in the movie and heads off into outer space with the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, Thor: Love and Thunder will bring him back to Earth!

I CAN DO THIS ALL DAY

Steve Rogers faces his past self in this sequence and comes face to face with America's Ass in the process. Cap's past self thought he was facing Loki, and ended up being bested after a Bucky mention.

THOR, CAP AND TONY

Marvel Studios' Trinity stands tall here as the last line of defence against the Mad Titan. An earlier version of the movie would have seen Thanos arrive with Captain America's decapitated head.

THE GAUNTLET IS EMPTY

Despite thinking that he had once again bested Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Thanos was shocked to find that he had been outsmarted by Tony Stark and was wearing a Gauntlet minus the Stones.

THOR FIGHTS THANOS

Thor wields both Mjolnir and Stormbreaker here but is seemingly once again failing to aim for the head! However, he's powering up and attempting to put an end to the villain yet again in this shot.

CAPTAIN MARVEL ARRIVES

One of the most jaw-dropping shots in the entire movie, Captain America watches on as Captain Marvel returns to Earth and brings Thanos' ship crashing to the ground after blowing through it.

PEGGY AND STEVE DANCE

Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter share a last dance in this shot from the movie's final scene, and, well, if you didn't have a tear in your eye here, we don't know what to say! What a perfect ending.

A FINAL MESSAGE

Tony Stark looks at the remain of his helmet here after that fateful battle with Thanos on Titan, and gets ready to record what he thought would be his final message to his fiancee, Pepper Potts.

LAST MAN STANDING

Steve Rogers is going to be missed in the MCU, but there's someone ready to take his place: Sam Wilson. At the end of Avengers: Endgame, he was given the shield and named the new Cap.

NATASHA AND CLINT SAY GOODBYE

Hawkeye says goodbye to Natasha here in what had to be one of this movie's most shocking moments. Despite Black Widow's demise, the character will return in a solo adventure set in 2017.

EVERYBODY COMES HOME

The Hulk uses the Infinity Gauntlet to bring everyone back from the dead, but badly injures himself in the process. How this will impact the character moving forward now remains to be seen.

THE FINAL BATTLE

CAP STANDS ALONE

There are some glorious shots from the final battle, but the highlight has to be Steve Rogers standing alone against the Mad Titan and his entire army. That's Captain America through and through.
I AM IRON MAN

"And I...Am...Iron Man!" This was a jaw-dropping moment in the movie, and this gorgeous image shows the impact wielding the powerful Infinity Stones is having on the very human Tony Stark.

The “taking a knee” scene was redundant. The funeral scene basically did the exact same thing, so I’m glad they cut it out the movie. Rocket talking about he Chituari army being so wack should’ve stayed tho.

@KWilly - I think Rocket laughing at them would have (low-key) taken the stakes away from the entire third act of The Avengers. Its a joke, but a somewhat-self aware one that people would take in.

Even more-so with the scene of Rhodey questioning Steve about jumping out the plane (in TFA).

Interesting, is the Cap and Rhodey scene played for laughs or a legitimate conversation?

@newhire13 - I always wished that he would have jumped out, hit by shrapnel and explosives once the plane hits he just sank into the ocean. I really don't know how he didn't survive that non-explosive crash, the plane was fully intact when dug up. That's one of my biggest issues with the ending there. I like the conversation between Cap and Peggy, just needed to see Cap do anything to survive while also taking the plane down, then failing to ultimately get out. Would have been more dramatic for sure.

I liked most of the deleted scenes, would have kept the ones of the team going over more history of the MCU to collect the Stones and the footage from The Avengers because they were funny.

Funny how there aren't any deleted Thanos scenes.
