AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Adds KONG: SKULL ISLAND Actor Terry Notary As One Of Thanos' Henchmen

Established mo-cap performer Terry Notary has revealed that he'll have a role in Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War as a villain, and it sounds like he'll be playing one of Thanos' Cull Obsidian...

Terry Notary plays the iconic ape via motion capture in Kong: Skull Island, and has also worked on the likes of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Avatar, Warcraft, and The Hobbit. Now, it seems the prolific mo-cap actor is set to make the jump to the MCU to bring a CG baddie to life in Avengers: Infinity War.

During an interview with THR, Notary spills that he'll be a part of the Russo Bros.' unprecedented superhero smackdown as The Mad Titan's right-hand man.

"I’m working on four characters right now. I’m working with Josh Brolin and three other actors [in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War], and I’m playing Josh Brolin’s right-hand bad guy in the film. I can’t say the name of the character or I think Marvel will sever my head, but I apply those same principals of what it means to drop bullshit and just play a character truly evil. And it’s working. [Laughs] It’s truly working.

Notary may not be able to reveal the character's name, but he will almost certainly be playing one of Thanos' Cull Obsidian, AKA The Black Order. This group is tasked with hunting down the Infinity Stones for their boss and is made up of Black Dwarf, Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, and Supergiant.

If Notary is indeed playing one of these bruisers in Avengers: Infinity War, which one do you think it is?

@batz11 -

Hopefully they can hold it all together. Even though the characters are established giving them all enough screentime to not feel left out may be an issue.

I wonder if Infinity War will deal with them taking down his minions as they try to collect the Infinity Stones, then the Avengers and Guardians battle Thanos only to have him surrender.

Avengers 4 would then have Thanos return stealing the remaining stones and having all the Guardians and Avengers unite to stop him.

@Scarilian - Doubt it really. Since Feige already said that Thanos is practically the main character in Infinity War.

Expectations through the roof for this one

I'm still expecting them to follow the original plan where Avengers 4 is effectively 'the big one' with all the heroes. Avengers Infinity War will probably just be an extension of Civil War with a finale where the GOTG and Avengers take down Thanos's Black Order.

@Scarilian - I was thinking Infinity War would be the big one. And Avengers 4 would be like a refresh, or a "New Avengers" type thing.

The original plan was that Avenger 3 and Avengers 4 would be a part 1 and part 2 respectfully - i think that plan is still happening just the first movie will be edited to make it seem like its a complete story. E.g. we'll see the Black Order defeated and Thanos imprisoned in Asgard or something.

They filmed at the same time, so we can guess that several aspects are going to be used in both movies - for example Thanos or several of the main cast.

I think Avengers 3 will be a celebration, we'll see the Avengers have a few fights then work together with the Guardians and defeat the Black Order and Thanos.

Avengers 4 would then be the Avengers Disassembled, the team would be hit by the loss of either Captain America or Iron Man - the other taking up a 'Nick Fury' style role. Thanos would return and be defeated by a combined team of everyone and we'd probably see the new team of Avengers formed at the end of the movie to follow on in the name of those who died.

I think Avengers 3 will see the Black Order sent to Earth to fetch the Time Gem and Mind Gem. All the while Thanos roams across the universe collecting the other gems from Xandar, Asgard, and Knowhere, with the GOTG on hot pursuit. Eventually Thanos will arrive on Earth as the Black Order are defeated and proceed to stomp all the heroes left, take the Time Gem from Strange and rip the Mind gem from Vision killing him, for the climax. Then the film will end with the infamous "Snap" with Thanos having assembled the gauntlet and the GOTG arriving on Earth just too late.

Avengers 4 will be Infinity Gauntlet.

I think they dropped the part 1 and part 2 titles because they wanted it to feel like a complete story - i doubt they would be able to build up the 'snap' - and if they did we would need to see the fallout. It'd also be strange to have the 'snap' occur and then to have Ant-Man 2 and Captain Marvel - unless the 'snap' only wipes out the rest of the universe other than Earth and they dont notice until Captain Marvel or Avengers 4.

Though i think you are right about the Black Order potentially serving as fetchers for the gems, i expect one of them to kill Vision and then the Avengers will think the Black Order are the main villains.

I expect so, they did hint towards it. Though i can easily see Death being a physical being rather than an abstract personification of the concept.

Similar in truth to Hela.

@Scarilian - I'd be OK with them using Hela in place of Death.

As long as they do Hela well, i'd be ok with that also. Would also make sense for Thor Ragnarok to set-up Infinity War's cosmic side while Black Panther sets up where things are on Earth.
