AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Buildup & Infinity Stones Explained In New AGE OF ULTRON Featurette

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been establishing the Six Infinity Stones and its highly-anticipated two-part culmination with Avengers: Infinity War.

Earlier today, we got an official look at Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet with all six Infinity Stones, but now it appears that was just a screenshot from the "Infinity Six" featurette from the Avengers: Age of Ultron Blu-ray/DVD bonus material. Fortunately, the full video has found its way online and it explains how four of the six Infinity Stones have been introduced, and also showcases the buildup to the two-part Avengers: Infinity War, which will be the culmination of Phase Three and the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. Check out the nearly eight-minute video below in HD!

Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War - Part I and Part II will reteam Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely with co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo. The highly-anticipated two-part event will also be the first movies ever to be shot entirely with new IMAX cameras, when principal photography begins reportedly in October, 2016. Avengers: Infinity War - Part I opens May 4, 2019, and Part II May 3, 2019. What do you think?

WAIT...

This brings up VERY interesting/intriguing possibilities and questions.

They've said there are TWO Infinity Gauntlets:
One is in Odin's vault on Asgard
One is in Thanos' possession

The video shows the scene from Thor: Dark World where Volstagg tells the Collector: "The Tesseract is already on Asgard. It is not wise to keep two Infinity Stones so close together."

I hadn't thought about it before and idk if others have mentioned it, but this scene could be a huge clue for what's to come in the MCU.

It suggests two significant possibilities:
1. At some point Thanos will visit Asgard to retrieve the Tesseract.
2. Odin's Infinity Gauntlet, like Thanos', does not contain Infinity Stones.

Now, if Odin's Gauntlet doesn't contain any Stones and Thanos is about to acquire all the Stones we've seen for his Gauntlet, how does Odin's Gauntlet acquire its Stones??
Is the Tesseract only one Infinity Stone? Meaning, however it goes from being the Tesseract to an Infinity Stone, is there excess/leftover to forge/make more than one Stone? Does that make sense?? I considered looking it up, but figured I'd ask here instead.

I still can't bear to watch that Thor 2 post-credits scene where Sif and Volstagg go visit the COllector. It's just so cheap-looking and soap opera-y. Like they're at a Halloween party or something. Just awful.

Alan Taylor was right to be pissed about that.

Thanos has been scowling in 15 second increments for about 5 movies now. With next to zero character development I could give a flying F about his pursuit of the Infinity Stones. Would prefer if Red Skull came back and tried to snare them.

Seeing where the stones end up at the end of all the movies really makes you wonder how they're gonna have Thanos get them all together. I assume his individual acquisitions of all of them will be the main plot points of the two movies.

It'll be amazing to see this all culminate. I'm guessing the Soul Stone will be seen in Doctor Strange.Time is likely Black Panther, or maybe Captain Marvel.

Oh my, this shit is gonna be [frick]ing awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@BatmanHeisenberg The soul stone should be introduced in GOTG Vol 2 . . . of course depending on how they'll elucidate Warlock.

@NELLOGISTICS

That's a possibility, but I think Gunn wants to tell his own story and not tie into IW this time, but anything is possible.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the greatest mediums, lucrative franchises and the epitome of entertainment. Even moving into Phase 3 and seeing everything coming to fruition . . . It's a constant feeling of blissful elation going into every film, for better or worst, which I can't quite capture with any other film.

I still hold watching The Avengers as my greatest cinematic experience, which I really hope to be phenomenally beaten by Infinity War.

I really like the world building of these movies... But I also loved the fact that movies like the first "Iron Man" and now the lovable "Ant-Man" had nothing to do with the whole Infinity Stuff... Love me my stand-alone adventures...

The Infinity War saga is going to surpass our imagination. Epic event that leads to sadness...what the hell happens after Part 2? No more MCU? Reboot the universe? :(

@GeekyCheekyChic Inhumans is after Infinity War which kind of basically confirms Marvel does have a plan after Phase 3 and Infinity War isn't exactly the endgame

Anyone disappointed that they can't show Thanos be badass without him using the Infinity Gauntlet at first?

Show he's a good villain, despite my feelings, without him needing toys to help him win?

No?
