AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Passes $900 Million As It Takes Aim At $1 Billion Worldwide Haul In Record Time

Avengers: Infinity War continues to pummel milestones because the movie passed $900 million at the worldwide box office on Thursday with a mighty haul of $905.1 million - that's a feat it achieved in just nine days (an average of $100 million per day). The Marvel movie also broke records in Russia yesterday with a huge $32 million debut to take its overseas total to a most impressive $566.7 million.

It's now thought that the Russo Brothers helmed release will indeed hit $1 billion either later today or tomorrow; either way, it's going to be the fastest ever to reach that figure which is just incredible.

Many analysts believe that Avengers: Infinity War will ultimately become the biggest superhero movie of all-time and $2 billion is a possibility. It's still early days at the moment and China is going to be extremely important as the Middle Kingdom should push its worldwide cume up by a significant amount. How many times have you seen the movie? Be sure to let us know your thoughts below.

2B is locked imo
Overseas (minus China) : 1B locked
Dom : 650M locked
China : 350M locked (given astounding presales)

Targets are now TFA and Titanic :)

@ArmGunar - I don't think 1B minus China is locked overseas. WITH China it is locked, however.

@ODanil -

Ultron OS opening (minus China & Russia) = 265M
Ultron OS-(China+Russia) = 672M

Multiplier of 2,536x

IW OS opening (minus China & Russia) = 382,7M
IW OS (minus China & Russia) : 382,7M x 2,536 (Ultron legs) gives 970M

And IW has better legs than Ultron so far :)

@Deonox - Definitely not "locked". 1.6B to 1.8B is more likely.

@MrDandy - 1.6B that’s potentially its only overseas gross

@ArmGunar - We'll see. I'd love to see it hit 2B but I really, really doubt it. It's got a lot of competition in Deadpool and Han Solo around the corner.

@Deonox It deserves it. That said, my wife and I saw it again tonight, but we will never be seeing any blockbuster during the most early and hectic of release times again, despite our inclinations to do so: the old man in front of us in a very packed theater was distressed that over the 3 hours viewing time, he'd felt my wife's dress slippers (that she'd come straight from work wearing) nick the back of his seat a few times, as she'd adjusted her sitting position in the extremely cramped theater conditions we were in. Long story short: sometimes, people are just nasty & disgusting in their reactions to you, despite your efforts to live life with grace and understanding, which is another (among a plenitude of) reasons why I feel blockbuster movie releases should go straight to streaming, in spite of my childhood predilections for a shared (aka theater-going) experience. I'm just over it. I don't go into movies to get into conflict.

@nisora33 - Next time spend the few extra bucks and go see a big blockbuster at a Marcus theater with "DreamLounge" chairs. Well worth it to sit in your own large electric recliner and not be able to reach the seat in front or behind you and not have to share an armrest. That's the only way I go to the theater these days.

@niknik - We normally do, but we were just so excited to see it a second time we couldn't wait--and we regretted not having done so. I would have made a bigger scene had there not been so many children around 😠
