Filming on the highly-anticipated Avengers: Infinity War will recommence in Scotland later this year. The third Avengers film unites heroes from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe to take on Josh Brolin's Thanos.
According to a Scottish newspaper, The Daily Record, the Joe and Anthony Russo helmed film will begin shooting on Feburary 28 and is expected to last six months. This will take place all over Scotland as an industry insider said: 'As is normal, Disney have been keeping everything top secret, but executives have been scouting locations across Glasgow, Edinburgh and The Highlands.'
Blockbusters including World War Z and Cloud Atlas have filmed in Glasgow in the past with the Brad Pitt zombie movie transforming the city into Philadelphia. What Avengers: Infinity War plans to shoot in Scotland is under wraps but with a six month shot expect at least some action sequences.
Avengers: Infinity War will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo with a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany and Sebastian Stan are rumoured to be joined by Guardian's of the Galaxy's Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Karen Gillian to take on Josh Brolin's Thanos the Mad Titan. Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Brie Larson, Paul Rudd and Chadwick Boseman as Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Ant Man and Black Panther respectively are also rumoured to join the cast. The film will be released on May 4 2018.
