Ryan Coogler Fondly Recalls Seeing IRON MAN For The First Time In A Bonus Feature For AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

The first Iron Man film came out in 2008, & now Black Panther director Ryan Coogler reveals how he felt upon seeing the film as a college student in a clip from a bonus feature for Avengers: Infinity War.

As a director with a stellar filmography that includes films like Fruitvale Station and Black Panther, it’s easy to forget that Ryan Coogler is a relative newcomer when it comes to big blockbusters and the film industry in general. It’s also hard to imagine that when the first Iron Man came out he was, like many of us, just a fan who was excited to see the Armored Avenger on the big screen for the first time.

But Coogler hasn't forgotten this fact, as a new video sees the director sitting alongside Jon Favreau and discussing the first time he saw Iron Man. He specifically recalls being awed by the detail put into the hero’s armor and the moment he saw the film at the Arclight theater.

This conversation between the Marvel Studios directors is just a clip from the roundtable discussion attached to digital copies of Avengers: Infinity War, and the full bonus feature will see other Marvel heavyweights like the Russo Brothers, Peyton Reed and Joss Whedon chime in.

In b4 people make fun of Gunn being there in a poorly constructed joke.

@ScarletWarlock - By the way, I saw this very comprehensive article about James Gunn and the controversy.

It is mostly an attack on Über Conservative Ben Shapiro, but it highlights a lot of the history of Gunn's tweets and why someone like Shapiro, who was so dead set on the firing of Roseanne, is so supportive of Gunn and against his firing.

Hint: Shapiro's mother works in Hollywood. She is a big wig there apparently.

Read if you want to. I found it informative.

It's crazy that he was there when it all started. Ryan Coogler was really the kid Iron-man saved in iron-man 2, not Peter Parker.

I rewatched BP last week and was still disapointed by the action scenes. The story and the characters were great, but the action was so lame and unspectacular.

@Kur5e - The end is a bit of a mess I grant you, but I love the casino fight into the car chase.

Iron Man is still one of my favorite MCU films and I consistently rank it in my Top 5.

These scenes are my favorite:
