Avengers To Be Released In Australia A Week Ahead Of The U.S. Release Date

Disney has sent a release schedule showing The Avengers being released in Australia on 25 April 2012. This puts it over a week ahead of the US release date of 4 May 2012!

First Australia got Thor first and now they will get to see probably the most awesome collection of superheroes that will ever grace the big screen, over a week before Americans. This is also 2 days before the UK release date of 27 April 2012, making Australia currently the first country that will see The Avengers Assemble. Hey, I guess we're making progress since Thor was released two weeks earlier in Australia. I guess America will slowly catch up to The Land Down-Under as the years pass.

Damn Aussies!

The Avengers is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based upon the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which crosses over several Marvel superhero films including Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011) and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Evans. The Avengers is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2012 and tells the story of Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., who recruits Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.

Development of The Avengers began when Marvel Studios received a grant from Merrill Lynch in April 2005. After the success of the film Iron Man, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011. With the signing of Scarlett Johansson in March 2009, the film was pushed back for a 2012 release. Whedon was brought on board in April 2010 and rewrote the screenplay that was originally written by Zak Penn. Production began in April 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico before moving to Cleveland, Ohio in August.

Greengo

I guess that wouldn't really be a team up if he just makes a cameo. Oh well... one can dream.

AND.... Disney just lost a bunch of money from the american public.

Why? Look what happened to Iron man 2.

Was released a week before the US released and it got leaked on the internet rather quick.

@Greengo you really think they would do a Supes cameo in Nolan's "realistic" movie?
tomtom12
tomtom12 - 8/24/2011, 10:16 AM
oh yea, this is for sure going to get leaked out onto internet to download here in America
HelaGood

@Mechagino i hardly think that the internet leak hurt IM2's $312 million box office
Greengo
Greengo - 8/24/2011, 10:21 AM
@Hela... I think it's possible. It's Nolan's last Bat flick and he's producing Superman. It would be an intriguing lead-in to 'Man of Steel.'
