Marvel's TV Shows Won't Deal With The Aftermath Of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

Avengers: Infinity War was a game changer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe but what sort of impact will Thanos's snap decision have on TV shows like <>, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Daredevil? Check it out!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe's timeline is pretty easy to follow...until you throw the TV shows into the mix! Despite the fact we're now in 2018, it still appears as if those on Netflix are set shortly after the events of The Avengers and even though Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. referenced Thanos's attack on Earth, it seems unlikely the show will deal with the fallout when it's not set to return until next summer.

That late premiere date means it can essentially gloss over the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, something it appears all Marvel TV shows will be doing given Kevin Feige's apparent lack of interest (he has no involvement in any of them despite being in charge of how the MCU plays out).

"For the most part our stories will take place BEFORE Thanos clicked his fingers," Jeph Loeb explained in a recent Q&A. "A lot of that has to do with production and when we are telling our stories vs. when the movies come out. So hang in there. I remember in the comics, one of my
favorite stories was the KREE-SKRULL war... which was universal, but in X-Men, no mention. Huh. And it all worked out in the end." Fair enough but that mention of "for the most part" is definitely interesting.

If I had to hazard a guess, he's referring to the next season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but anything more than a throwaway mention is probably unlikely as the days of that series fleshing out the movie seemingly ended quite some time ago. What do you think? As always, share your thoughts below.

And this ladies and gentleman, is why they aren’t actually a part of the MCU

@Chameleon - Well, they SHOULDN'T be anyway.

@Chameleon - That's not at all what this article implies. Loeb literally says their shows take place before the events of IW. Real life constraints are the only thing that make it so difficult to truly connect them. But considering Nick Fury has been in the TV shows -- and a few others from the movies -- it's definitely still connected.

@Tonic24k - Markus and McFeely don’t even know whats happened on the TV shows when they’re writing MCU movies, the shows have ZERO consequence on the movies at all, you actually believe that in 2020 the Netflix shows will reference anytning to do with rhe snap?

@Tonic24k -
The only thing that makes it difficult is Kevin Feige not giving a f.uck about those shows, and not wanting Loeb's and Permutter's bullshit touching his projects.

Just keeping it honest.

That’s because the TV shows aren’t canon to the MCU & never will be

@LEVITIKUZ - yeah and they never mention avengers and invasion of New York.

@Mamamartha - It is canon. As much as real life will allow it to be. AoS has consistently played to the event of the movies. Sometimes pretty directly.
