Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star Jonathan Majors has confirmed he's already met with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty director Destin Daniel Cretton, and teases the filmmaker's approach to the event movie.

During this year's San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios announced that The Multiverse Saga will wrap up with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars

Based on the titles alone, we're assuming Kang the Conqueror will take aim at Earth's Mightiest Heroes in that first movie, resulting in a new reality being created in the follow-up (similar to the amalgamation of worlds we saw in Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic's 2015 Secret Wars comic book event).

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton will helm The Kang Dynasty, and Loki and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star Jonathan Majors has already met with the filmmaker. He doesn't give too much away in the video below, but suggests the movie is going to pose some big questions.

"We're dealing with myths," he teases. "You know, what is a Kang? What is a...what is movie? What is an MCU movie? What does that mean, what does that look like? Those are the questions we're asking."

"But all of that works when it's grounded and really, really, really tucked into the given circumstances of what's going on between these people, and what we can illuminate for ourselves as a species." Asked what Kang brings to the table, the actor added, "Look, what's a villain?"

Reading between the lines - and looking at that title - we're betting this will be the movie which really pulls the curtain back on the Conqueror.

The movie isn't that far away, but Marvel Studios still has a lot of stories to tell in theaters and on Disney+ before then. We know Kang Variants will factor into Loki season 2 and the next Ant-Man movie, and chances are those won't be the only places we see this enigmatic villain.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is set to be released on May 2, 2025.

@DUNCAN1 - MCU becoming too meta and self aware now, I guarantee we wont be seeing sny of those comic panels brought to life. They’re going to subvert our expectations 🤗🤗🤗🤗

I think they are focusing on the whole "Thanos was right" movement where people didn't see Thanos as a villain. Perhaps that's what they will be doing with Kang.

@SonOfAGif - loki already put that in the atmosphere. You felt the weight of what sylvie did and you kinda saw where the one above all was coming from

@MyCoolYoung - I have to disagree with that. Sylvie killed He Who Remains which was the 616 variant. 616 Kang mentioned "If you think I'm bad wait until you meet my variants" implying they were far worse. I think if Avengers 5 dives into Kang (???) Backstory we may side with him but ultimately the desire for supremacy and at what cost will ultimately hold more weight than their tragic origin. The only villain I felt was right in their conquest was Kro from The Eternals despite being a horrible villain. His entire existence was a lie built by the Celestials and the Eternals were glorified animal wranglers. Imagine being a wild animal let loose onto a planet and being reprimanded for the instincts installed upon you by the same higher power that created you. I wish The Eternals focused more on Kro and less on the history of the Eternals because the concept of Kro could have been the best MCU villain origin to date.

@SonOfAGif - bad can be taken in many different ways. Some of them could try to rule with an iron fist simply because they know how people are when given true free will.

Not saying he'll be right, per se, but as soon as he was killed and the TVA was dismantled the timeliness have gone berserk. Look at Dr strange in no way home and in multiverse of madness.

I think Kang will be closer to loki. More specific loki in his speech to the older guy and the crowd in avengers

@MyCoolYoung - I don't know if we could even accept one Kang being the definitive one at this point. Because from my point of view, 616 Kang didn't want a multiversal war. But he locked down lives and restricted any alternative possibility for the sake of security the doorway into Universe 616. Where as the Multiversal War is something that was always going to happen and all 616 Kang did was delay it. The One Above All has been allowing all of this to transpire and it seems as though Universe 616 has been the catalyst for all b/s that will happen in the Multiverse. But then Universe 838 was aware of the multiverse. So one has to wonder at what point does a Kang (???) Become the definitive Kang? Was Thanos 616 even the definitive Thanos?

@SonOfAGif -
@MyCoolYoung -

After viewing your conversation I have a question...
Do I need to watch Loki to understand what is going to happen?

I don't have Disney+, so I I don't know about any of that!

@SonOfAGif - that's a great question. What if the one above all is the definitive Kang? When Sylvie killed him, he said see you soon or something. That could be interpreted as some of his variants, but it also could be him. We'll see.

I think Thanos might be definitive, and this is speculation based because he was so hard to beat. It didn't seem like other universes had such a hard time with him, but the main timeliness only had one shot.

@Corruptor - In terms of an actor's perspective, "a Kang" is "a character" the actor has to figure out how to portray. "A Kang" has very specific attributes the actor has to analyze and develop.

Anything else I can help you with?

Avengers has some of the best villains, and I see Kang adding to it. He'll already have been in multiple projects by the time his movie is here, so his motivations should be fleshed out. Can't wait

Love what Majors brought to the character in his first appearance and I’m really excited to see his return. I so far haven’t cared much about the Ant-Man films, but his inclusion has me excited for the end of the trilogy.

Story is not written, scholar-- and neither is destiny! History is made! Made by the deeds of the strong! The brave! And destiny is forged! The historians, the students, the gray-beards-- they come in the wake of the strong and write down what the brave have done! But it is the conquerors who change the world!
