Chris Evans Comments On Where 'Captain America' Essentially Stands In THE AVENGERS!

Taking part in a Q&A session with GQ Magazine earlier this month, actor Chris Evans discussed his commercial for Gucci's new fragrance, and of course his 'Captain America' revival reprisal in Marvel's The Avengers movie. Briefly commenting on the "uncool-ness," and importance of the character, read on below!

"I don't think he's the coolest guy—he's far from it. He's a straight- shooter. He's probably pretty boring as far as a character goes, but I feel like he grounds things. When you have these giant personalities and egos, there needs to be someone who brings them back down and reminds that this is a team, not the individual show."

The actor when on to reminisce signing on for "The sentinal of liberty" role with last summer's Captain America: The First Avenger movie, as well his growing love for the character.

"The first time I read the script before I took the job, there was a little hesitation, because as an actor you want to sink your teeth into something raw and grittier. The truth is, I've grown to really fall in love with the character. I have a friend in Bosnia that I based the character off of, who is very down-the-middle, very straight-laced, but the best guy you'll know. And when you really live in that headspace all day for months at a time, you can't help but take some of that home with you. This sounds silly, but you like the way you feel about yourself. You like the way you look at things when you really are doing things for the right reasons. No ego, completely selfless. It's a great way to be. I've really grown into the guy."

I've come to the conclusion that the movie 'verse Cap costume looks way better in action.

@3D Evans seems like a great guy, not to shabby on screen either. I appreciate RDJ as an actor more, though if only for how utterly talented he is.

All the pics of Caps Outfits look stupid. But then i think, is there really anyway to make it look better? its pretty spot on without being over the top cheesy. Of course with movie cgi and crap itll look way better

You know people complain that his ears covered look like crap. And that the cartoon art looks better since his ears are showing.

But look at this picture...

See the hole on his helmet? Looks like those earmuffs come off. Maybe he wont wear them in some scenes, I hope.

We don't even know if he will actually have the "muffs' on in the film. Plenty of images and footage shown without them. I am not overly concerned. Some set shots aren't enough to worry me.

His new mask resembles a flat rubber tire.

I think the helmet needs the chin strap. He had it in the first avenger and it looked great

I know it's going to look great on film, but that image does make me laugh. Can't help it.

The Falcons remained strong throughout the season, but had an offensive meltdown. I just realized that only the division winners are remaining in the playoffs right now.

HONESTLY, FOR CAP 2 THEY SHOULD IMPROVE ON THE SUIT MORE, ITS PRESENT DAY AND SHIELD PROBABLY HAS ACCESS TO MORE VIBRANIUM..WITH ENOUGH OF THAT THEY COULD CREATE A THINNER MORE BODY HUGGING OUTFIT WITHOUT ALL THE FLAPS AND ZIPPERS AND EVEN A HELMET...WORKS FOR BLACK PANTHER..

I must be in the minority that thinks his helmet & costume doesn't look "dorky" at all.I Love it. It's great to see it finally on the big screen. I mean look at the comics....what do you people WANT?

@Gunsmith that Font is the most Soviet thing i have ever seen. Costume is pretty much spot on, not a fan of the mask around the eyes, little too flimsly for me.

Yea... Cap is boring.... Keep getting the character wrong Chris. Steve is a natural leader not some guy who brings the heros back to reality. What the [frick] are you reading? If Cap is boring. He wouldn't be running shield right now. Shit this guy says just pisses me off. If Cap was the guy who brings people back to reality he would've ran away with Spider-Man during Fear Itself. Like seriously do these guys go to source material to learn about the character?
