Are you ready for Marvel's first full on comedy? Well, that's what we're getting with Damage Control, an upcoming single camera sitcom from The Daily Show alum and Modern Family co-executive producer Ben Karlin. The network has now given it a put pilot commitment, and the series is set to focus on the overworked, underpaid, clean up crew of the Marvel Universe. Specializing in dealing with the aftermath of the unique fallout from super hero conflicts, they’re the ones who are in charge of returning lost ray guns to their rightful owners, help to reschedule a wedding venue after it has been vaporized in a super hero battle, or even track down a missing prize African parrot that’s been turned to stone or goo. Just how much it will tie into the movies remains to be seen, but there's definitely the potential here for some awesome Easter Eggs! What do you guys think about these plans for Damage Control? Let us know your thoughts below.

This can either be a REALLY good thing or a REALLY bad thing.

Kinda like Agents of SHIELD and how (after 2 years) it's still teeter-tottering on both ends.

@Retribution13- Speaking in your opinion I see. Agents of Shield has had a major improvement (Since season 2) and has now found its footing while also winning a lot of fans back who gave up on it during the first half of season 1

As for this show, I couldn't really care less.

I want it but only if they plan it as a summer release to fill the Tuesday at 9PM slot (I know it's a half hour show but maybe pair it with something else?) during the May to August period. I would love to see this being used to act as a late summer show. Have Most Wanted start at the end of AoS Season 3, have it run for like 8 to 10 hour long episodes, and in August, drop a low cost comedy in the slot that runs from August to September. AoS premieres a week or two later and doesn't need to take that break they always take for a week.

I think this could good as a 22 minute comedy. ABC seems to do better at those.

This has potential to be really funny.

Sounds good to me, it would be interesting to see a sitcom styled Marvel show based around the premise of the destruction caused by the heroes and villains. I am curious how it'll work though. Will it focus on preexisting destruction (ala showing them cleaning up after the Phase 1 Movies) stick to the new stuck that is introduced in all forms of media (resent one being Joey on AOS) or make up their own entirely.

Agents of SHIELD is pretty much guaranteed to make it until season 4. It needs 88 episodes for Syndication and it would be cost prohibitive to produce 66 episodes (since the show can't be sent to syndication).

So AoS will definitely be back in fall of 2016.

Agent Carter could easily end after two seasons as it doesn't qualify for syndication and is closer to the cable model, Penny Dreadful for example was a period piece given and 8 and then 10 episode order for it's first two seasons.

Marvel's Most Wanted doesn't sound like a show that would go for a 22 episode season. I would say 13 max a season.

If they gave Most Wanted 13 hour long episodes and Damage Control got 10 half hour episodes aired in groups of 2 that would be 50 weeks of a new show on Tuesdays 9PM on ABC for Marvel.

Is THIS John Ridley's secret project? JK.

I am all for anything Marvel so bring it on!

Hmmm DC is doing a similar thing with their office based sitcom aren't they?

As for outside-of-superhero shows, off shooting popular characters,
I could see a Daily Bugle show, centering on J.Jonah Jameson and Betty Brant
And revolving around the cooky journalism staff as they report of superhero and spiderman antics

Unlike DC, Marvel is actually basing it on one of their properties though.

Since we tend to shorten all the CBM stuff down to the initials to save time when we discuss them here (i.e. MOS, AOS, TWS, AOU, BVS), I wonder if there will be some confusion when we start talking about "Marvel's DC"...

I've dreamed before of a sit-com set in the MCU. This sounds amazing. I know I'll watch.

"And yeah... Marvel is actually doing this of The Wrecking Crew an existing property"

Uh, no. Marvel is actually doing this of The Damage Control, an existing property:

The Wrecking Crew are these guys:

Isn't DC doing a show similar to this concept?

And when is Thor going to appear on Once Upon a Time?

homodrome
homodrome - 10/2/2015, 3:00 PM
what channel was the DC one gonna be on?

ABC keeps ordering Marvel shows and I feel like, calm down ABC! You're acting like you're the CW and Agent Carter is the flash with regards to ratings.

Like yes they have ended up with a loyal following, eventually earning strong critical response. But does ABC really need 5 Marvel shows in 2016?

I mean MCU Tv would be:

Agents of SHIELD
Agent Carter
Most Wanted
Damage Control
Untitled John Ridley Project
Daredevil
Jessica Jones
Luke Cage
Defenders

AND Punisher probably.

@homodrome

I'm hoping they're spacing them out so that we have at least 1 Marvel show on at a time throughout the year. It would make the waiting for returning shows easier and wouldn't bombard you like I feel like DC's shows of done last year with having them on all around the same time of the year throughout the week.
