Kevin Feige: 'Quicksilver' In THE AVENGERS 2 "Very Different" From X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Rehashing "gray points" allowing both studios to use the speedster, Marvel's president believes X-Men: Days of Future Past general audiences may not notice it's the same character in Age of Ultron!

Despite reports that Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have both closed deals to play Wanda and Pietro Maximoff in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel has yet to formally make an announcement. Well, speaking with the Daily News, Kevin Feige wouldn't confirm the Godzilla pair either, but he did rehash The Avengers sequel and X-Men: Days of Future Past having the Quicksilver character in common. “There are only a handful of characters that occupy that middle ground,” says Feige. “Iron Man is not going to show up over there and Magneto is not going to show up over here. But there are a few gray points even after many years of negotiations … and that only happens with a character like Quicksilver, who has been a part of the X-Men, the son of Magneto in those comics, but also a primary Avenger. The characters are going to be very different. Other than their powers, general audiences might not even know — unless they read your article — that the two are related.” What do you think?

$5 says that he's actually more accurate in avengers than he is in the charater cameo fest that will be DOFP

So if the gray areas in the agreement are 'Quicksilver' is part of The Avengers as well as The X-men, resulting in both studios using him.....could that mean Peter Parker (Spider-man) and Logan (Wolverine) show up too at one point....not so distant future?

I'm cool with both studios using Quicksilver but honestly I believe it's a bit biased to say Marvel/Disney 's Quicksilver will be better just because of Whedon's and/or Fiege's involvement. I'm sure both will be great but I'm rooting more for Fox's QS because of the simple fact that it is more true to the source material. I know that people here get fed up with everyone saying this phrase but... "Quicksilver is Magneto's son." And I'm more intrigued to see how that relationship turns out in Days of Future Past.

I just can't understand how so many people accuse Bryan Singer of this imaginary situation in which he steals the idea from Whedon after Whedon stated that he was using the character in Avengers. However Singer already had plans in which he announced in an interview around February 2013 that he had plans to expand the X-Men universe. So who's to say he already had it planed all along?

Either way I'm pumped to see both, but I just know that Fox will eventually introduce Scarlett Witch and Polaris in a possible solo flick with his involvement with Genosha.

I believe Skrulls fall into this gray area as well, Fiege said so when Avengers came out.

@theblacknerd
You are aware that they said the fix version of quicksilver won't be magnetos son. Bryan already stated in an interview that he changed quicksilver, and has Evan peters. He said that quicksilver is different from his comic counter part. So to say foxs will be more accurate is very wrong. Both versions will be different but the fox version already is vastly different

Marvel's Quicksilver is probably going to be an Inhuman rather than a mutant. And the lack of connection to Magneto will be another important change.

Yeah it's to do with who owns the rights to different sets of characters. It'd only be really minor characters who have equally footing in xmen and avengers who could cross over. Big shame really. An avengers wolverine spider crossover would own.

What word they use doesn't really matter to me.
Mutant or inhuman ... they're just that, words.

I'm interested to see both versions.
I will prefer Avengers version, because it's unacceptable to have QS appear and not SW.

But Evan Peters will do a great job.

@TheBlackNerd Singer was never specific, and no announcement of Quicksilver was thrown out till after Whedon said something. With all that said, he makes sense.

Here will be the determination. Lets see which studio actually uses the character and which one has a blatant cameo as a jab to a competing studio when the film comes out. A weeks pay says Marvels version is actually fleshed out and real and the Fox version has about 25 seconds of screen time since he was a late addition.

So you guys know this kills any notion that FOX and Marvel Studios will never do a crossover! I mean how would they explain two QuickSilvers!!!!!!

RexDartEskimoSpy - 11/11/2013, 9:07 AM
Two guys with white hair who both move superhumanly fast (and presumably will be portrayed as jerks). Oh, and the same uncommon name. Yeah, nobody will notice the similarities...

So Quicksilver will have appeared in THREE separate feature films (if you count the brief cameo in Wolverine Origins) before the Flash ever gets to be in a live-action movie? There's something very wrong with that.

I agree with both you guys. The Inhumans are Marvel/Disney's way of getting around the whole "Marvel can't use muties because Fox ownes them" situation.

Disclaimer: If there are any Mutants on here that are offended by the term "Muties", I apologize.

File this under sheer speculation but.... Any one who read the original DoFP knows that one of the main characters is Franklin Richards. I think that Evan Peters is not playing Quicksilver but Franklin Richards. The final fight of DoFP takes place in the Baxter Building. I think that the FOX shared universe will be established in this film.

Heard it here first kids.

It's true. Most common folks won't even realize that they are the same person. You already know one of the movies (if not both) will only refer to him by his real name.
