Mark Ruffalo Responds To Jason Statham's MARVEL Comments; "He's Got Nothing On Me!"

Despite apparently being in the running to play Bullseye in the second season of Daredevil, Jason Statham recently slammed Marvel action scenes by saying that they weren't authentic. Avengers: Age of Ultron star Mark Ruffalo has responded, and he reckons he can take The Stath down...

Jason Statham is very much an old school action star. He does his own stunts and fight scenes, and takes pride in being known as the kind of guy you most definitely wouldn't want to piss off. The majority of movies these days - superhero ones for example - obviously rely heavily on special effects and stunt doubles, and it turns out that the British actor isn't remotely impressed by that. In fact, he believes his grandma could be made to look like a real ass kicker in a Marvel movie!

Needless to say, his comments generated a lot of controversy online (as everything anyone says these days seems to), and Mark Ruffalo is the first actor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to respond. Talking to Vulture at the premiere of Infinitely Polar Bear, the Avengers star was asked if he thinks he's as tough as Statham. "I mean, do you really need to ask that question? It's Jason Statham," he joked. "He's like a featherweight. He's got nothing on me! Clearly." It's on!

Jason statham stinks. His ego outgrew his acting and he is now a major shitmonster. Still can't tell the difference til this day between crank and transporter.

Exactly! People forget about their weight classes. At the same time, weight is only a tool to be used against you. I'd bet on the wrestler over the swimmer any day though.

I've always liked Jason Statham, but he's really just making himself look like such a child.

Did Statham not see the first season of Daredevil? Some of the most brutal action I've witnessed in any medium!

Ruffalo is definitely a better actor that's for sure

Statham knows his action though, it would have been cool to see him as Bullseye

LMAFO!

Statham opened up a world of hurt when he chose to talk smack. He's stupid for acting like all of Hollywood hasn't been using stunt doubles since action movies were created. Even porn has stunt cocks.
Ruffalo trains guitar hero style!

I respect Statham's commitment to traditional action movies but the guy sounds douchey making all these comments on Marvel movies. We get it, you don't like comic book movies, move along already. If anything I think his movies hurt the action movie genre, everything hes done has been so generic and heartless.

Statham does- as far as I can tell from the 2 or 3 films of his I seen- do the same kinda character over and over but that doesn't make him wrong. He has a point. There is something superficial about Marvel films in general.

Talking mess about cbm's will get the fanboy community after you. Statham is a certified badass, but a terrible actor. He's extremely one-dimensional and his movie roles are limited.

@ alecwright - so only Marvel and Fox make bad action sequences? No issues with the TDK trilogy, Catwoman, Green Lantern or any of those films that have sh*tty action also?
