Marvel Studios Moves Up Untitled 2014 Film And Updates THE AVENGERS Title With 3D!

Recent reports suggests that Disney's distributor company has moved up the release date for one of two previously-reported Marvel Studios filmes slated for summer 2014!

Back in August, we learned that Marvel Studios scheduled two untitled movies for summer 2014. With the first scheduled for May 16 and the second one targeted for a June 27, Deadline now reports that Disney has moved up the one latter. The infamous site also suggests that Marvel Studios has updated The Avengers' movie with the ever-growing 3D; converted.

Disney today sent out a few changes for upcoming releases. Marvel’s The Avengers 3D updates the movie from 2D to 3D. Its May 4, 2012 opening date remains the same. Another comic-book property, Marvel Untitled is shifted to April 4, 2014 wide from June 27, 2014.

Of course, there is no word on what Marvel character(s) either films are about, but it's great to know the studio is looking ahead, with their 2013 slate consisting of Iron Man 3 (May 3) & Thor 2 (November 15). And Sony already has The Amazing Spider-Man sequel scheduled for release May 2, 2014, so we already have 3 marvel films promised for 2014, should plans remain consistent.

Anyhow, judging from a poll posted earlier this year, which optioned Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, Runaways, Black Panther, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Nick Fury/S.H.I.E.L.D, The Guardians of Galaxy, Blade, Inhumans, Captain America 2, Punisher, and The Avengers 2 as your top pick, it's the sequel to their most-anticipated 2012 film that's most-wanted. Do you agree?

Marvel's The Avengers 3D is the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner with Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston, directed by Joss Whedon, Marvel's The Avengers will be released May 4, 2012.

There must be more changes coming.

Because as it stands, that leaves the schedule with three Marvel films in under a month:

April 14 - Untitled 2
May 2 - The Amazing Spider-Man, Part 2
May 16 - Untitled 1

4th april 2014.....

but what could it be.

I'm thinking it has to be something that couldn't handle a summer tentpole release.

Of the films that we know are/were in the works, Ant-Man or Runaways seems like good posibilities.

This is why I wouldn't want Marvel to get X-Men or Spider-Man back. They make a max of 2 films per year with some years only having one. Marvel wouldn't be able to focus on Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Avengers, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Blade, or any of their other properties.

Black Panther would be excellent. I think it'll be Dr. Strange or Captain America 2 though. Maybe even Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Guardians of the Galaxy!!!!! The only property I want back at Marvel is Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer and Galactus are fundamental to Marvel's Cosmic Universe.

"If my math is correct... And it always is"- Tony Stark

So we have Thor 2 in November, Untitled April, Spider Man May 2, and Untitled on May 16... Four Marvel movies in 6 months.

WINNING!

Why the 3D post conversion?

@Gaston I agree, plus if done right 3D could be very good. Though IMAX is always the way to go IMO.

lmao shady tactics trying to sneak in 3D instead of announcing it outright from the beginning

btw a solo Black Panther movie would bomb.. use your head

I think Ant-Man will be one of the 2014 releases. That and Doctor Strange or maybey a Cap sequel. I haven't heard any official mention of a Black Panther or Nova movie being in development so I really don't think they will be one of the two.
Fastestmanalive
Fastestmanalive - 12/22/2011, 12:28 PM
Im hoping its Cap 2. If were getting a Thor sequel in 2013 then we should get a Cap sequel in 2014, Ill let that extra year slide, lol.
Unionjack
Unionjack - 12/22/2011, 12:29 PM
@Griffy - Marvel obviously feel that the only way sales will get close to the hype of TDKR is the extra revenue from 3D!!

Daredevil is still owned by Fox and they already announced theyre giving him his own movie.

I would love to see Marvel make a Nova movie that simply puts Warners/DC to shame on Green Lantern to the point they feel the need to up the ante.
BIGBMH
BIGBMH - 12/22/2011, 12:31 PM
Please don't change the title. It really cheapens the name to have 3D put in there like it's some gimmick movie.

Hoohoo!! Just what does Marvel have in store for us anticipated fans? Black Panther? Nova? Possibly the Guardians of the Galaxy? Captain America 2? Man oh man, the possibility is endless! And the wait is just agonizing! Bring it on, Marvel!!

@0SageMode0 - Dude, where the hell did you get that incredible poster? Did you make it? Just by looking at it makes me wish that Marvel is already making a Black Panther movie. Heehee!! :D

Stay EPIC, my friends!

Post 3D is pants, surely studios would have learned after Clash of the titans!! - If they wanted 3D, why not film it in 3D. This is just marvels reaction to TDKR recent hype. I will rather watch Avengers in 2D, Cap was pants in 3D, but great in 2D!!
