POLL: What Do You Think Of Hawkeye's New Look In The Avengers?

Cap's new costume recently saw 65.22% of you vote that it was the perfect look for him, but what of Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye? Have they made the right choice with the Ultimate inspired look or do you want more purple and the cowl?

When we caught a glimpse of Jeremy Renner in THOR, it was pretty difficult to make out what he was wearing, although it most definitely wasn't any sort of superhero costume. When the first promotional pictures appeared of The Avengers assembled recently, they made it clear that the look Marvel Studios were going for was one inspired by the hit series from Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch, The Ultimates. Of course, that's a comic book which already divides fans, so it was met with something of a mixed reaction. Today however, we got our first live action glimpse of Renner suited up as Hawkeye (the full gallery of images can be found by clicking HERE) and his suit was finally revealed in full. While I love the classic purple look he sports in the comic books, I personally don't think they could have gone for anything better, but what do you guys think? Here's your chance to decide...

STARRING:

If you voted 'Awful! Where's the mask and purple tights?!' you're an idiot

At least it has purple

@Frecks- Yeah especially after everyone whining about Cap's uniform looking to campy for being exactly like the comics. They should not expect Hawkeye to have tights.

I'll go with option three, the costume itself is cool, but too much like a Shield Agent, lacking a style.

Great choice of costume for Hawkeye. It's going to be better seen in action

Can't really use the limited poll, but Renner is looking surprisingly badass. It really works well and he has the build and look to pull it off. I don't think just anybody could have put that on. It could have easily looked laughable and fruity with someone else in it. Weather it was luck or planned...

Looks Good.

Looks great. Renner was born for this. Oh and I need that bow.

Love it, Love the purple. Not too big on the lack of something on his face, even some goggles or just sunglasses would be nice. Purple Tint of course.

The quiver and bow are bomb looking, the forearm strap and finger guard are great.

looks like he's actually going to be portrayed as a lefty in the film too... is this enough to spark controversy??

You gotta admit the purple 616 suit would not look good on film...
ADParker

I really do like it. Practical for a serious archer.

And as for "too much like a Shield Agent"; well he IS a shield agent, ha!

Ya know, what I would really like is for him to be issued the uniform with a 'Hawkeye' mask/hood, only to have him say that he his not wearing that sh*t, and tossing the mask aside, A nice shout out to the classic Hawkeye fans (like me) and good representation of the attitude of the character as well. (Similar to the costume references in the first X-Men film.)

Perfect suit. and although i think they could have gone with someone else as Hawkeye, I think Renner will still kick ass in this movie simply because Hawkeye kicks ass.

There's no other way for hawkeye costume to work on big screen, unless some movie costume designer did a original idea reimaginating the original

Weel,I think he will have goggles...
Or least that is in some of the art
hartley07
hartley07 - 9/3/2011, 5:13 PM
pretty cool, if hawkeye was so good, he probably wouldnt need the armgaurd. Theyre also used to keep your sleeves out of the way, but he doesnt need it for that either. lol
BooYah
BooYah - 9/3/2011, 5:15 PM
For everyone bitching about him not having anything on his face, he will have sunglasses. Remember the concept art?
HeyVanity
HeyVanity - 9/3/2011, 5:20 PM
Looks pretty good, surprisingly. I love Hawkeye's classic look in the comics, but even I must admit that it would be difficult to pull of onscreen. Still wish it wasn't quite so plain, but overall, it's better than I expected.

A friend of my girlfriend's had a hand in designing this. All he could tell me was "It's purplish". I'm a fan of the classic Hawkeye look, but I think this looks great.
