Following the awesome set photos posted by DCMarvelFreshman earlier today (find them HERE) we now seem to have confirmation that the threat The Avengers assemble against will indeed be of an extra teresstrial origin. The question now is, who exactly will it be?! Below, I've included a list of all the main Marvel Universe alien races, but feel free to let me know if you'd like to see anyone else added.

The Badoon

The Badoon are a reptilian alien species. They are notable for having a gender schism, resulting in two separate societies; the Brotherhood of Badoon (ruled by a 'Brother Royal') and the Sisterhood of Badoon (ruled by a Queen). The Badoon are older than the Kree and the Skrulls.

The Brood

The Brood aren't just savage, they're evil, intentionally enjoying the suffering they cause others, especially the terror their infection causes their hosts. They've been compared to "demons".

The Celestials

The Celestials are a star-faring race of humanoid aliens who possess untold cosmic power. Standing two thousand feet tall, the Celestials are clad in full body armor. No Earth being has ever seen what they look like beneath their armor or knows their origin.

The Dire Wraiths

Avoe is referred to as the Goddess and leader of the Dire Wraith tribe of Inhumans that are now inhabiting the Blue Area of the Moon. For years it was thought that the humans of Earth were the only species that the Kree, had performed their experiments on while seeking to create an army of living weapons.

The Kree

The Kree is an extraterrestrial humanoid race who have created a vast empire in the Greater Magellanic Cloud and have, on certain occasions, trafficked with the beings of Earth.

The Phalanx

The Technarchy is an extraterrestrial, sentient form of "techno-organic" life, resembling machinery in various ways. Because of their ability to absorb energy and mass from living beings, the Technarchy have a special safeguard in encoded in the techno-organic virus that they can transmit.

The Shi'ar

The Imperial Guard is a legion of super-powered champions from throughout the intergalactic Shi'ar Empire who act as enforcers of Imperial law. An elite corps of the Guard, dubbed Superguardians, protects the ruling emperor (majestor) or empress (majestrix) and carries out their personal directives.

The Skrulls

The Skrulls are an extraterrestrial humanoid race who have created a vast interstellar empire, the oldest known empire still in existence, within the Andromeda Galaxy.

Why would Kree take less time to set up than Skrulls? They're directly related.

The Kree are more Avengers related, with the Skrulls being the FF aliens of choice and the Shiar the X-men's. Ronan the Accuser and Mar-Vell would be cool to see. No way that they can do the Super-Skrull, so that leaves out the most well-known member of that alien race.

Shi'ar, or a Skrull/Kree war. Celestials would be cool to see but I would save them for a Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

I thought the Dire Wraiths were a deviant offshoot of the Skrulls not Inhumans. Or did I read the poll wrong?

i voted skrull because i think their a good bad guy for movies but i'd personally want Loki mystically empowering the wrecking crew(open the movie with widow and hawkeye taking them down at the beginning, at somepoint loki breaks them free and enchants their weapons then sending them to find the power gem which will super amp their powers(for a an actual interesting thing to have thor fight and not demolish) with a final battle with loki, the wrecking crew and a bunch of summoned monsters with loki somehow escaping with the gem then a post credits of loki bowing and handing the power gem to thanos(of course with some devious loki plan in place) then the next two movies could have them in space searching for the other 4 gems

Also on the note of the mo-cap suits. This doesn't set in stone it's gonna be aliens to me. They could be Gamma/Super Soldier monsters Like abomination or even more monsters loki summons from the 9 realms just like he brings the frost giants to asgard.

The advanced weapons could be "modern" tech built with the cosmic cube much like the hydra weapons in cap were waaay advanced for ww2 or even maybe brought from the future by kang

Since Brood won't happen. First off, they're Xmen territory (as are the Shi'ar) and secondly they're a blatant "Alien" ripoff. If we get Skrulls we'll eventually get Kree. That's a given. The Celestials are a pretty heavy concept and could play into pretty much any story line, but they're not really Avengers-centric (sorry if I'm raping the english language). Badoon and Dire Wraiths? Meh. I say Skrulls. FTW.

The problem with naming them "The Chitauri" is that Marvel doesn't own the name... It's a real star, so you can no more trademark it than "Martians". It's tied in with existing UFO conspiracy crap. I have trouble believing Marvel Studios/ Disney would opt to use that name instead of one they already own and could protect.

I would think they would reinvent the Skrulls or the Kree instead.

The Kree or the Skrulls or both would make the most sense.

I'd like to see both the Kree and the Skrulls myself, with the Skrulls being the main threat.
