Possible Details On What Marvel Has Planned For THE AVENGERS Franchise Moving Into Phase 4 Revealed

The Avengers franchise is bound to live on following the release of Avengers: Endgame, but what comes next? A new report claims to shed some light on that, so you're going to want to check this out...

Avengers: Endgame is going to be the end of an era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe but what comes next? We know that Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the first Phase 4 movie, but just how different will this shared world look and what does that mean for Earth's Mightiest Heroes?

Well, according to MCU Cosmic, there are rumblings about both the Young Avengers and the New Avengers (they note that these could be separate movies or one and the same).

The site also goes on to claim that this movie would potentially combine characters from the Young Avengers roster with the likes of Captain Marvel, Black Panther, and Doctor Strange to create a "New" team which obviously ushers in a very different era of storytelling. Last year, we heard that Marvel was also developing a Dark Avengers movie so the franchise may just expand in a big way.

After all, there's really no reason why we couldn't see the formation of three new teams but it's going to take a while to build to that, and Marvel has the Fantastic Four and X-Men to develop as well.

What do you guys make of this Avengers rumour? Share your thoughts in t
he usual place.

@TheUnworthyThor - And why is that?

@Jeight8 - Don’t like teenage superheroes. And I already assumed characters like Captain Marvel and Black Panther would taking over the Avengers, no need to really distinguish them as the “New Avengers” I just want them to be the Avengers.

I don't know about you guys but the new MCU trinity being Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange and Black Panther is very exciting.

They had a hit with gotg and the avengers movies, they are going to continue to grab from as many team based comics as possible. That's why I see f4 and X-Men coming soon along with believing these and other rumors like power pack.

Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange and Black Panther - great, then jus add a few characters to round it out, Black Knight is a personal favorite and She-hulk and Shang-chi, sounds great.

Before we all get excited I think we have to think how the fans will react to the loss of a lump of its beloved characters first. You se they have been adding on these new guys AROUND the core fan faves but there's a possibility that there will be a semi negative reaction to a film without the core folks knowing they are now gone and not just on another mission to return later.

Again, throwing Wolverine out there as the pic shows isn't going to work initially as Jackman isn't going to do it all again and I don't blame him. You are again left with new faces or pretty new faces, Dr Strange I can go with, Black Panther is good but the film itself was over hyped, its very watchable but not the masterpiece it was portrayed as but Black Panther is right for the team and as we have not seen Captain Marvel as yet its unknown if the character will be wildly liked..

It could work but its all new and that could be hard to take in very quickly..

@Mclane - No offense, but if the older characters go, then the older fans can leave with them too. Honestly fandom generally has an annoying reaction towards anything that means change, and the MCU fans are no exception.

There's been so much unwarranted criticism to the new characters and their movies like Black Panther (which you just demonstrated--nobody called BP a masterpiece and you thinking differently than others does not mean they're "wrong" and you're "right") and Captain Marvel even before their movies have come out. And it's funny that people don't even want to give these movies and characters a chance when Phase 1 was far from being perfect (in my opinion, there are only 3 good movies in there) and Phase 2 was rocky as hell.

Why can't we give these characters a chance to be even liked, to make even better movies and make improvements where they can. Instead all everyone is doing is criticise and condemn and complain about everything.

So yea, if you don't like, don't let the door hit you on your way out. The MCU is good at getting across to everyone outside of the fandom.

I think Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man could have real good chemistry together. So as long as they are front and center, I like it

I want to find out who is moving into Stark Tower.
The F4 or Norman Osborn seem like prime candidates.

Very little detail in this article. For the Young Avengers movie the rumoured superheroes to be included are Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye, Hulkling, Iron Lad, Patriot, Wiccan, Stature and Vision 2.0 (not Paul Bettany’s version). Presumably with Wiccan and Vision 2.0 being twins, instead of including Speed (for some reason). Anyway, this would be a great team and I really hope this is the direction they end up going in.

Can't permanently replace the big three (seldom worked long term in the books for a reason) but that doesn't mean you have to nor does it mean that we can't embrace other great characters as we have with Strange and Panther.
Kurne
Kurne - 1/16/2019, 4:21 AM
@lawndart - I think they can get rid of one of them... Thor was kinda gone for a few years until 2009-2010 (at least from the crossovers) and it felt like a natural absence for the mainline Avengers. However, the rumors of Endgame taking Cap and Tony together? That feels like too much too fast in one movie.

Aside from Eternals being an odd priority for Feige, I have no idea why people are suddenly so down on the future of the MCU past-Endgame.

We barely have any idea of where they're going. We do know the F4 and X-Men coming back only broadens this universe even more, yet I've seen people say that it feels like the MCU will run out of ideas instead... weird.

I'm very excited to see where things go post Endgame... yet i'm going to cry like a baby if my boy Cap meets the end. I will miss the big 3... however it'd be nice if they all played some sort of minor roles moving forward and then coming back for another Avengers level threat like Doom or Galactus.

I do however like that BP, CM and Dr Strange could lead a new group of Avengers... I'm torn. Excited yet sad. Is it March 7th yet??

Hey guys, on my run this morning I got around to thinking about the potential plot of Endgame and its ramifications going forward. Please take the time to read because I should be getting ready for work right now, but I'm choosing to braindump instead on all of you lol

I'll make this simple. I think the plot of Avengers 4 WILL involve time travel and traveling to different places throughout Avengers/guardians history... HOWEVER, I think the real gutpunch will be that you cannot bring an infinity stone back through time to your original timeline. This means that somebody has to stay back with the infinity stone and guard it and also sadly, age with it. We have 6 infinity stones, and we have 6 original Avengers members. You can see where I'm going with this right?

My theory?
Cap goes the furthest back, and gets old and becomes the new director of shield after Endgame
Iron Man is shown in set photos at the battle of NY looking old. So he might have already gone back by that time, and we're seeing an older Iron Man
I also think that this older Iron Man is wisened with age and chooses to marry Pepper earlier in the timeline (around Ironman 1 era). They have a daughter who is a teen by the events of Avengers Infinity War
Black Widow is shown with her blonde hair grown out, and red tip. This means she only went back 1-2 years in the past
Thor is damn near immortal so it doesn't matter how far back he goes! He wont age much

Again this is all speculation that hit me like a wave. But what do you guys think? It kind of gives us a sad ending to the avengerts because they would haev aged themselves out of service/action. I can totally see the Russos doing this
