During yesterday's star-studded press conference for Marvel's The Avengers movie, two of the anticipated film's stars, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo, let slip that one last scene was to be filmed that very night. And continuing promotional rounds with Access Hollywood, the two actors jocularly discussed the scene, despite it being debunked by director Joss Whedon and producer Kevin Feige. Watch the video below, with more below!

In a separate interview with THR, Ruffalo said,"Yeah, yeah — we're shooting a scene tonight. I don't know where it's going to go. I really don't. We don't even really know what it is yet, but we're shooting a scene tonight." Pointing to the closet of his hotel room, he said, "All I know is that my costume is in there, we're putting on make-up, [and they're saying] ‘show up here and we're going to tell you what we're going to do.' "

In addition, Meredith Woerner of IO9 contributed their bit of evidence to the undisclosed scene. "Plus, when we were leaving the junket late last night, we happened to bump into Chris Hemsworth on the elevator in full Thor battle mode make-up. While he wasn't in costume, the actor was covered in dirt and battle ash, hardly the face you'd usually put before the press. Looks like he was getting ready to shoot one last moment with the crew."

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, & directed by Joss Whedon from a screenplay by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when “Marvel’s The Avengers” assemble on May 4, 2012. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. In addition to "Marvel's The Avengers," Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Iron Man 3" on May 3, 2013!; and “Thor 2” on November 15, 2013.

I don't think it is real I mean the screening just happened

I think they would have shot something for final release

Like some cosmic superhero cameo or may be a bit for coulson

May be the Wakandan Easter egg we got in the movie will be in a detailed version

@SteveRogersSon

Yeah, maybe it's a short film teasing Ant-Man for the US release. Since we got to wait an extra week to see this.

This is like the best promotion ever. Even if the scene doesn´t exist this has got every fanboy intrested (again) like the alien race that isn´t really that important.
deadman222
deadman222 - 4/14/2012, 12:23 PM
If not for Ant Man then must be for Black Panther we got a Wakandan Easter Egg in the film

headlopper - 4/14/2012, 12:23 PM
Seriously, Downey Jr. said it all when he said it's for the fanboy's . So whatever it is, it's a little something for us. Just listen to what he says, and you'll get it.

Personally, I think it a little 'hint' at what MARVEL's got cookin' for their next big movie event!

Probably some reference to an 'Annihilation' event?!!

@JPLeezzy-I absolutely agree. That movie was amazing and now I can't wait for what's next. I have feeling on how the next series of sequels for each individual member will tie in with the who we saw in the credits.
