Scarlett Johansson & Jeremy Renner On The Possibilities Of Appearing In Upcoming MARVEL Sequels

We know Johansson won't be popping up in Iron Man 3, but what about the sequels to Captain America and Thor? She and Renner discuss the possibilities, and also comment on whether love might be in the air for the two "master assassins"..

Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner had some nice chemistry as Black Widow and Hawkeye in The Avengers, and shared a few great scenes together, so it's only natural to assume that should we see one appear in a future Marvel movie, we may see the other. We already know that Miss Romanov won't be rejoining Tony Stark in Iron Man 3, but while chatting to Total Film the duo reveal that there is always the possibility that they could cameo in the other Marvel sequels that are in the works, even if they aren't spilling what they may or may not know just yet..

TF: You’re not in the third Iron Man?

Scarlett Johansson: “No. I know they have Iron Man 3, and then they’re going to roll out Thor 2 and Cap 2. I don’t know how far the process is for either of those. But we talk to Kevin [Feige] about that stuff.”

TF: But you’re not cameoing in either of those?

Jeremy Renner: “Not that I’m aware of.”

Johansson: “I’m not sure. But there is always the possibility. But even if there was a possibility, we would never tell you!”

Widow and Hawkeye's relationship seemed more based on friendship and respect than intimacy in The Avengers, but could we see that progress in the future? Renner thinks so, and suggests things might get a bit rough if they ever did decide to have a romp between the sheets..

TF: What about a love story between Black Widow and Hawkeye?

Renner: “I think there are possibilities all through the Marvel Universe, isn’t there? Sure. I wouldn’t discount that. I think it’s probably…I think they’d just as much get after each other in bed as they would slice each other’s throats while they’re at it. The Widow’s thighs, man, they’re dangerous! You’ve got to be careful of those things. Like a preying mantis!”

If they ever did get it on we could start calling them Black-Eye! No? Ok. For more click on the link below.

Well now we know what the porn parody will be like! :P
I think it would be awesome to incorporate a love story, just dont focus on it too much or we will have a superman returns on our hands (and no one wants that!)

I think Cap, Widow and Hawkeye would make sense as a team. It'd be like Mission Impossible 4.. but with super powers.

Marvel does need a romantic storyline. For one, it gives men and women the excuse to call it a date night romantic movie. And two, women who don't for some reason want laughed at by their female friends for going to see a comic book movie have an 'oh I'm going for the romantic storyline of blah blah'. Granted if your female friends mock you, perhaps it is time to re-evaluate the friendship.

@PatientZero

Is Tom really a "douche"? I'm not so sure.

Anyways, here is hoping we will se more of Hawkeye and Black Widow. Perhaps they can team up with Nick Fury and Black Panther.

There is a moment in the movie when Cap looks at Widow with a mixture of awe and respect..that's another possibility!

I hope (At least) Black Widow leaves the team in the sequel, to make room for Ant-Man and/or Black Panther. The character is great, but it's hard for me to see her as a true Avenger alongside Iron Man and Thor.

You won't think that after you see the movie! She's a highlight.

Well Joss did a good job of there characters in the film, so I wouldn't mind seeing them in the sequel plus having a team of only men is a little to much for me.

As for them showing up in other films I could most diffidently see then in Cap 2.

I would imagine it's most likley they'll appear in Captain America 2, considering it involves SHIELD.

There's a moment in the movie ( the avengers) when cap is being led by black widow to met nick fury on the hellicarrier and she glances back and smiles at him while there walking there. That gave me a HUGE indecation of what lies ahead . In my opinion.

@2gold:
I wonder what kind of women you know. Laughed at by their female friends for watching an action movie without a romantic storyline, really? If anything, women - the ones I know at least - don't really want to see female characters whose sole role in the story is to be the hero's girlfriend. It gets tiresome after a while.
As for me, I'd rather not see a romantic relationship between Black Widow and Hawkeye. Was never a fan of the two of them as a couple, and they work much better as comrades.

In another writer/director's hands this relationship would have been the low point of the film, there are so many ways this movie could have gone bad, and I think it's all owed to Joss for his talent.

Everyone I know who has seen it has said they loved it, never in my life has the consensus on a film been 100% for a film, nearly always 50/50.

Just goes to show what I, and all you guys believed, and prayed for. Lets hope that in the next films they deliver as much.

@2gold n' @Arianka:

There's no need of a romantic arc in any of these movies to attract women. I got the midnight show screen with more fangirls than fanboys and it was like being in a boyband concert.

I want more female heroes for Avengers 2, introduce Sharon carter in cap 2, Wasp in ant-man. Bring in Kree for Avengers 2 for a sub-plot for ms.marvel, not like an official team-member but an alley or something. Sound to messy? Nothing Joss Whedon can´t handle!

Widow and Hawkeye were one (well two) of the most pleasant surprises in the movie... With the on-screen time they had I think both characters were reasonably well developed. The only "stiff" performance, IMO, was Cap. He didn't come across as the likeable guy of the first movie, but maybe they were trying to show that he was feeling out of place...

i can picture either or both black widow and hawkeye being featured in Cap 2. but they SHOULD give a SHIELD movie a shot, featuring them both, Fury (most definitely) and Maria Hill, plus Carol Danvers, Daisy Johnson (Quake), Sam Wilson (Falcon) and Gen. Ross (William Hurt reprising his role, or if replaced..i'm voting for Bruce Willis in the role).

Hawkeye and Black Widow along with Nick Fury and Maria Hill should appear in Captain America 2 fighting modern day HYDRA and AIM, with the Winter Soldier having joined them. There, that's your movie.
