The attacking alien horde in THE AVENGERS have been revealed more
clearly in THE SUPERBOWL TRAILER but they are still quite a mystery.
Some say THE BADOON, others THE FROST GIANTS, My friend HAWKSBLUEYES@
speculated that they are THE HIGH EVOLUTIONARY'S KNIGHTS OF WUNDERGORE.
Some say they are ATLANTEANS, others THE KREE.
They seem to have a greenish blue hue and they're wearing helmets
with ANTENNAE. They have three toes so that throws out the BADOON,
ATLANTEANS, the FROST GIANTS, and THE KREE.
Well, they could be ANNHILUS and his hordes and that is a good guess,
they do seem to be insectoid-looking.
But I think that LOKI would be using folks from his realm and so does
BRENDON CONNELLY over at BLEEDING COOL FORUMS. I was thinking along this
line too. He says it's a horde from WALT SIMONSON'S famous SURTUR SAGA
in THOR. They are THE SONS OF MUSPELL, CREATURES FROM MUSPELLHEIM.
They are demon-like creatures (which would account for the three toes.).
In the comics they emerge from a portal above the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING.
In the trailer you have THOR'S lightning striking the top of the
EMPIRE STATE BUILDING where it seems like the portal is beginning to
open where the aliens are coming from.
This all fits. They are not new alien invaders to the comics that's for
sure but they are new to MARVEL AVENGERS MOVIES.

This storyline involves the breaking of THE BIFROST BRIDGE and some of
that was played out in last year's THOR movie.
This makes sense to me! It would figure that LOKI would use aliens
from his realm, THE SONS OF MUSPELL, from MUSPELLHEIM. They're
kind of HELLISH.
