Batman-News just posted some details concerning Selina Kyles/Catwoman's character in Christopher Nolan's final Batman installment. Batman-News claims that this new information comes from a reliable source, but decide for yourselves.


"Catwoman is apparently one of the most well written characters we’ve seen in these movies so far and she could potentially steal the show the way Heath Ledger did last time. She does some cool stuff in the movie like jumping out of windows and stealing the Batpod. Her back story is that she has a history of abuse and works as a stripper and is also a pickpocket."


This is more or less in line with the SCOOP first reported on CBM back in July that Catwoman's back story would closely follow the interpretation illustrated in Frank Miller's Batman: Year One. [Catwoman's Backstory Scoop]

If true, this is really dissapointing news. I've always hated the stripper/prostitute version of Catwoman and always thought her character was above all that. I'd much rather love to have seen the rich/sophisticated Selina Kyle. REALLY NOLAN??!!

When TDK came out all we got as a scoop was who was in it and that one preview picture of Heath in make-up. I don't remember seeing ONE screen of anything. This movie? It's like the flood gates are open. I'm not hating on it at all, it's just that's one of the things that I think made TDK so good... the fact that no one knew where it was headed. I don't know... maybe i'm knitpicking.

You know, in "Year One" she was a hooker, and a thief...so I think if Nolan wants to go for a "Real World" type feel with Catwoman, I think I'd rather see her as a stripper than a hooker. Not too mention we've already heard part of her background is abuse, so making her a stripper will tie into that idea pretty well I think.

Look, I trust Nolan and what he has done with the series. I think Jeff Loeb's take on Catwoman was another good story. All in all she has been through alot of rewrites over the years and the bottom line is that she's always been an interesting character. I personally hope we see her and Bruce reveal themselves to each other at some point in the film....something along the lines of like the way they did it in "Hush" where Bruce tracks her down and they have that whole heart to heart moment...

I've been trying to get excited about this movie, but dammit I can't. The news that has come out has been lackluster and NOTHING has made me open my mouth in awe. Plus it's hard to get excited when you're a billion times more excited for THE AVENGERS and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. But maybe when the first trailer comes out that will help.

I'm sorry but I just re read the "scoop" and it sounds like pure SHIT. "SHE DOES SOME COOL THINGS LIKE JUMP OUT OF WINDOWS...." HA!
